Abstract:
A sintered oil retaining bearing has a bearing bore through which a rotary shaft is inserted formed at a bearing main unit made of a porous sintered alloy. The inner circumferential wall serving as the bearing bore includes a center inner circumferential wall located at the center region of the inner circumferential wall, and one end side inner circumferential wall and other end side inner circumferential wall, located at one end side and the other end side, respectively, of the center inner circumferential wall in the direction of the rotary shaft. The center inner circumferential wall has a blinded portion where the air permeability is not more than 0.3×10−3 darcy, and air permeability lower than that of the one end side and other end side inner circumferential wall.
Abstract:
A spiral bevel gear having right and left tooth flanks having such a small pitch angle that either right or left ones are not seen in plan from the apex side of cone is molded by a powder molding device so as not to interfere with a die of the device when removed from the die. The die has teeth for molding and is rotatably supported. A fixed guide mechanism for guiding the die is provided. Guide portions of the guide mechanism have a predetermined lead so that the die is rotated guided by the guide portions when the molded article is punched out of the die. Thus, the teeth formed on the molded article reliably disengage from the teeth for molding. This makes it possible to reliably punch the molded article out of the die.
Abstract:
An oligosialyl-1,2-dialkyl-sn-glycerol represented by the following formula (I): ##STR1## wherein each R.sup.1 independently represents a group selected from the group consisting of a hydrogen atom and alkali metal atoms, each R.sup.2 independently represents an alkyl group having 14 to 18 carbon atoms, Ac represents an acetyl group, and n represents an integer of from 0 to 20, and synthetic intermediates for their preparation useful as an immuno-stimulating agent, an antitumor agent, and a diagnostic and therapeutic agent for cancers.
Abstract:
A monoclonal antibody A exhibits specificity to the sialic acid glycolipid containing the epitope NeuAc.alpha.2.fwdarw.9NeuAc terminal. A monoclonal antibody B exhibits specificity to the sialic acid glycolipid containing the epitope NeuAc.alpha.2.fwdarw.6Gal.beta. terminal. A monoclonal antibody C exhibits specificity to the sialic acid glycolipid containing at least one epitope selected from the group of NeuAc.alpha.2.fwdarw.9NeuAc terminal, NeuAc.alpha.2.fwdarw.6Gal.beta. terminal and NeuAc.alpha.2.fwdarw.1Cer. Hybridomas are prepared which produce antibodies A, B and C. A process for producing the hybridomas is disclosed including the step of fusing a myeloma cell and a B cell (lymphocyte) produced by the immunization of animal using as an antigen, the sialic acid glycolipid containing at least one epitope of the group NeuAc.alpha.2.fwdarw.9NeuAc terminal, NeuAc.alpha.2.fwdarw.6Gal.beta. terminal and NeuAc.alpha.2.fwdarw.1Cer.

Abstract:
A prolylphenylalanylarginine derivative represented by the formula, ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 represents hydrogen or benzoyl; R.sub.2 represents naphthyl or 6-bromo-2-naphthyl. The above compound is useful as an excellent substrate for various enzymes, such as trypsin, plasmin, kallikrein, urokinase, Clesterase and the like. Accordingly, the activity of enzymes can be measured by use of said compound as a substrate.
Abstract:
The brushless electric machine includes a first drive member (30U) having a plurality of permanent magnets (32U); a second drive member (10) having a plurality of electromagnetic coils and capable of movement relative to the first drive member (30U); and a third drive member (30L) disposed at the opposite side from the first drive member (30U) with the second drive member (10) therebetween. The second drive member (10) has magnetic sensors (40A, 40B) for detecting the relative position of the first and second drive members. The third drive member (30L) has at locations facing the permanent magnets of the first drive member (30U) a plurality of magnetic field strengthening members (32L) for strengthening the magnetic field at the location of the second drive member (10) in conjunction with the permanent magnets.
