摘要: An electrically heatable honeycomb body includes an axis, an inner region surrounding the axis, and an outer region spaced apart from the axis. At least one stack has at least one sheet metal layer and is disposed between the inner region and the outer region. The stack is wound in the form of a spiral with a multiplicity of windings around the inner region. The windings include a plurality of windings being adjacent one another and spaced apart from one another and electrically insulated, in pairs. A multiplicity of bridges each mechanically and electrically connect together a respective two of the adjacent and spaced-apart windings. The windings and the bridges form a multiply branched current path for an electrical current flowing between the inner region and the outer region. Each of the windings is completely part of the current path.

摘要: The invention pertains to a honeycomb body which can be electrically heated. Heating power is non-homogeneously distributed in the monolith. The honeycomb body is formed from at least one layered metal sheet which is wound or layered and intertwined. A multiplicity of flow channels for a fluid are provided. Each of the flow channels have openings at the two mutually opposite end faces of the honeycomb body. At least one current path is formed in the layers with an electrical resistance which is non-homogeneously distributed along the length of the path. The path can carry a current for heating the honeycomb body. According to the invention, the current path has an electrical resistance which is always adapted to the requirements of the voltage source to which the honeycomb is to be connected for the purpose of heating the same. Furthermore, the spatial distribution and the shape of the path in the honeycomb body may be adapted to specific requirements, for instance due to a certain geometry of the honeycomb or its intended use. Such honeycomb bodies are especially suited for heatable carriers for catalysts for converting noxious substances in exhaust gases of internal combustion engines, such as Otto engines. It is possible, with the catalyst carrier body to attain virtually instantaneous activation of the catalyst upon engine start-up.

摘要: A method for providing a reducing agent precursor includes heating a quasi-closed evaporator volume, delimited by a wall and at least partially filled with a solution of a reducing agent precursor, to a reserve temperature of the solution to produce an atmosphere of a vapor including at least one reducing agent precursor at a reserve pressure above ambient pressure. The vapor is extracted on demand by utilizing a pressure difference between the reserve pressure and an ambient pressure. The method and a device provide reducing agent precursors that can especially be used in the selective catalytic reduction of nitrogen oxides. The method and the device allow easy dosing since, due to the pressure gradient between the vapor and an extraction line, no other conveying device is required when the vapor, which contains at least one reducing agent precursor, is dosed to a hydrolysis catalytic converter.

摘要: A method and device for reducing the nitrogen oxide proportion in exhaust gas of an internal combustion engine, carry out selective catalytic reduction on a reduction catalytic converter, at least discontinuously supplied with reducing agent. A reduction catalytic converter storage capacity for reducing agent and dependence of the storage capacity on temperature of the catalytic converter are considered when determining the reducing agent amount to be supplied. The reducing agent amount to be supplied can be adjusted to future temperature of the reduction catalytic converter and storage capacity at that temperature, for example preventing the reducing agent from desorbing from the catalytic converter when the temperature of the catalytic converter increases, e.g. by regenerating a particle filter. A reduced reducing agent amount is therefore supplied prior to regeneration of the particle filter instead of an amount required for stoichiometrically reacting nitrogen oxides in the exhaust gas without considering storage capacity.

摘要: A process for producing a honeycomb body includes a) producing a tubular casing from sheet metal; b) introducing a hole, delimited by a rim, into the sheet metal; c) fitting a flange piece for a measurement sensor to the hole rim; d) introducing a honeycomb structure into the tubular casing; and e) joining the tubular casing to the honeycomb structure and the flange piece by brazing or welding in a single, common, heat treatment process. Steps a), b) and c) are carried out in any desired order. A honeycomb body includes a honeycomb structure. A tubular casing surrounds the honeycomb structure, has a hole delimited by a rim, and has a necked region surrounding the hole. A flange piece for a measurement sensor is brazed to the hole rim. The process allows a flange piece to be connected to the tubular casing in an advantageous manner as part of an on-going heat treatment process, resulting in a simple and fast production and consequently a reduction of costs.

摘要: An exhaust gas system for purifying exhaust gases of an internal combustion engine, particularly a diesel engine in a motor vehicle, conducts the exhaust gas in a specific flow direction. A catalytic converter, particularly for converting hydrocarbons and carbon monoxides contained in the exhaust gas, an oxidation catalytic converter, particularly for converting nitrogen monoxide contained in the exhaust gas and a particulate trap for collecting particulates contained in the exhaust gas, are disposed successively in the flow direction. The exhaust gas system ensures a highly efficient conversion of harmful substances contained in the exhaust gas, and a particularly positive effect with respect to the regeneration of the particulate trap also occurs.
