Abstract: A display device includes: a substrate; a bank having a first main opening and sub-openings extending from the first main opening; a first electrode and a second electrode on the first substrate and being spaced apart from each other in a first direction and extending in a second direction; a plurality of light-emitting elements on the first electrode and the second electrode and being spaced apart from each other in the second direction; a first connection electrode on the first electrode and contacting first ends of the light-emitting elements; and a second connection electrode on the second electrode and contacting second ends of the light-emitting elements. The first connection electrode is connected to the first electrode through a first contact, and the second connection electrode is connected to the second electrode through a second contact on the second electrode. The first contact and the second contact overlap the sub-openings.

Abstract: A display device may include: a substrate including a display area and a non-display area; and pixels provided on the display area, and each including sub-pixels each including an emission area and a non-emission area. Each sub-pixel may include a pixel circuit layer including at least one transistor, and a display element layer including at least one light emitting element configured to emit light and connected to the transistor. The display element layer may include: a first electrode and a second electrode spaced apart from each other with the light emitting element interposed therebetween; the light emitting element connected between the first and second electrodes; and a planarization layer provided on the pixel circuit layer, and coming into contact with at least a portion of each of opposite ends of the light emitting element. The planarization layer may overlap with each of the first electrode and the second electrode.

A method of manufacturing a light emitting element includes: preparing a lower panel including a substrate and a first sub conductive semiconductor layer on the substrate; forming a first mask layer including at least one mask pattern on at least a part of the lower panel to be spaced apart from each other and an opening region in which the mask patterns are spaced apart from each other; laminating a first conductive semiconductor layer, an active material layer, and a second conductive semiconductor layer on the first mask layer to form an element laminate; etching the element laminate in a vertical direction to form an element rod; and removing the mask pattern to separate the element rod from the lower panel.
