Abstract: A method for manufacturing a film, wherein said film has a basis weight of less than 50 g/m2 and wherein the density of the film is higher than 750 kg/m2 comprising the steps of: providing a suspension comprising microfiber Hated cellulose (MFC); forming a web of said suspension on a porous wire, microfibrillated cellulose (MFC); surface sizing said web, wherein the web, at the beginning of the surface sizing step, has a moisture content in the rage from 10 to 50 wt-%; drying said surface sized web to a final moisture content of between 0.1-20 wt-% to form said film.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a barrier layer for a paper or paperboard based packaging laminate. said method comprising: a) providing a barrier substrate comprising at least 50 wt % highly refined cellulose pulp (HRC) based on dry weight of the barrier substrate. said HRC having a Schopper-Riegler (SR) number above 80 as determined by standard ISO 5267-1, b) providing a transfer coating substrate comprising a vacuum coating layer and a backing layer separated by a release layer, and c) transferring the vacuum coating layer from the backing layer to the barrier substrate by a transfer coating process using an adhesive layer applied on the barrier substrate and/or the vacuum coating layer to obtain a barrier layer for a paper or paperboard based packaging laminate.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a strength enhancement agent for paper and paperboard, said strength enhancement agent comprising a fines-depleted highly refined cellulose pulp (FD-HIRC), wherein said FD-HIRC has a Schopper-Riegler (SR) number in the range of 60-100 as determined by standard ISO 5267-1, and wherein said FD-HRC has an amount of long (>0.2 mm) fibers of at least 8 million fibers per gram (based on dry weight), and wherein said FD-HRC has a Fines A value below 46, wherein the Fines A value is determined using an FS5 optical fiber analyzer. The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing said strength enhancement agent.
