摘要: A method of sorting waste material is disclosed herein, the method comprising separating materials in the waste material according to specific gravity, by contacting the waste material with a liquid selected such that a portion of the waste material sinks, to thereby obtain a sorted material containing at least 90 weight percents of material having a specific gravity within a pre-selected range. Further disclosed herein is a method of processing waste material by separating materials in the waste material according to specific gravity as described herein to remove at least a portion of inorganic materials in the waste material, and subjecting a feedstock comprising the obtained sorted material to mixing via shear forces and to heating. Further disclose herein are a polymeric material obtainable by the method of processing waste material, articles-of-manufacturing comprising same, and systems for sorting and processing waste material.

摘要: The process for producing organic molecules from fermentable biomass includes a step of anaerobic fermentation (5) producing volatile fatty acids (6), these precursors being transformed into final organic molecules by non-fermentation means. It also includes at least the following steps: a) extracting (9) at least one portion of the volatile fatty acids from the fermentation medium in such a way that the production of fermentation metabolites by the microorganisms (M) is not affected, and introducing a portion of the liquid phase (11) containing microorganisms from the extraction (9), b) synthesizing (13) organic molecules from the fermentation metabolites or from the volatile fatty acids extracted in step a),-c) continuing steps a) to b) until the final molecules are obtained, in terms of amount and quality. The invention also relates to an installation for implementing the process.

A method for the pressurized recirculation of organic material is also described.

Carbon is sequestered into a photosynthetic biomass or a heterotrophic biomass, which is subsequently digested by an anaerobic biomass containing methanogenic microbes, whereby methane is a digestion product. Alternatively, the biomass can be subjected to physical-chemical treatment to produce oil and other useful byproducts.

摘要: Improved methods for anaerobic digestion of organic matter to produce biogas. Among the improvements given are including ferric iron in a hydrolysis reactor to increase the rate and efficiency of anaerobic hydrolysis to provide substrates for methanogenesis. A solids separation step is added after hydrolysis and before methanogenesis to improve the efficiency of the methanogenesis step. Other improvements involve using separate tanks for the hydrolysis and methanogenesis stages and using two (or more) methanogenesis tanks in sequence, and switching the order of the two (or more) methanogenesis tanks periodically.

摘要: Waste or organic material is compressed at a pressure sufficient to burst cells, for example 50 bar or more, and separated into a dry fraction and a wet fraction. The wet fraction is treated in an anaerobic digester to produce biogas after removing grit. The wet fraction is diluted, preferably with sludge, before it is degritted. Optionally, floatables are removed from the fraction before it is added to the digester.
