摘要: In one embodiment, a method is provided. The method includes comparing a first hue of a displayed test pattern with a second hue of a generated test pattern to determine one or more differences in hue. The displayed test pattern is displayed on a display of a media viewing device, and the media viewing device receives and displays digital content. The displayed test pattern includes a first plurality of steps, and a first step of the first plurality of steps includes the first hue. The generated test pattern includes a second plurality of steps, and each step of the second plurality of steps includes the second hue. The one or more differences in hue are utilized to determine a quality of the digital content displayed on the media viewing device.

摘要: An image signal modifying method is disclosed. In one aspect, the image signal modifying method includes inputting a gray level interval of a first dynamic capacitance compensation (DCC) lookup table to a current gray level which is a target in a previous image signal when it is overdriven (DTG) and 0 to a gray level of the previous image signal (PIG). The method also includes searching for a data value in an adaptive color correction (ACC) lookup table corresponding to a gray level equal to a numerical value of the DTG (ALT) and performing an algorithm based on the DTG, the ALT, and the gray level interval of the first DCC lookup table. The method further includes generating a second DCC lookup table based on the algorithm, and performing second DCC processing on the input image signal based on the second DCC lookup table.

摘要: An electronic device may be provided with a color sensing ambient light sensor. The color sensing ambient light sensor may measure the color of ambient light. Control circuitry in the electronic device may use information from the color sensing ambient light sensor in adjusting a display in the electronic device or taking other action. The color sensing ambient light sensor may have light detectors with different spectral responses. A test system may be used to calibrate the color sensing light sensor. The test system may have a tunable light source with light-emitting diodes that are turned on in sequence while gathering measured responses from the detectors. Numerical optimization techniques may be used to produce final versions of the spectral responses for the light detectors from the measured responses and corresponding calibration data that is stored in the electronic device.

The unit may access information regarding the target display and at least one input. The unit comprises a database interface configured to retrieve display characteristics corresponding to the information regarding the target display from a characteristics database, and a mapping unit configured to map at least one of tone and color values from the at least one input to corresponding mapped values based at least in part on the retrieved display characteristics to produce the modified video signal.

摘要: A display drive circuit of the invention has: an initial-color-gamut-apex-coordinate-storing unit capable of storing initial color gamut apex coordinates; a user-target-color-gamut-apex-coordinate-storing unit capable of storing user target color gamut apex coordinates; a saturation-expansion-coefficient-deciding unit for deciding expansion coefficients of saturation data based on the initial and user target color gamut apex coordinates; and an expansion unit for expanding saturations of display data based on the saturation expansion coefficients. The expansion coefficients of saturation data are decided based on the initial and user target color gamut apex coordinates, and saturations of display data are expanded according to the expansion coefficients. Thus, the degree of expanding the saturations can be controlled for each color gamut or each of R, G and B color properties of an LC display panel.

摘要: A graphics display system integrated circuit is used in a set-top box for controlling a television display. The graphics display system processes analog video input, digital video input, and graphics input. The system incorporates a unified memory architecture that is shared by the graphics system, a CPU, and other peripherals. The unified memory architecture uses real time scheduling to service tasks. Critical instant analysis is used to find a schedule for memory usage that does not affect memory requirements of real time tasks while at the same time servicing non-real-time tasks as needed.

The signal conversion device includes a gamma conversion unit, a brightness detection unit and a brightness processing unit, wherein the gamma conversion unit is used for performing a gamma conversion process on RGB input signals and generating RGB brightness input values; the brightness detection unit is used for generating a W brightness input value based on RGB proportional coefficients and the RGB brightness input values; and the brightness processing unit is used for generating RGBW output signals based on the RGB proportional coefficients, the RGB brightness input values and the W brightness input value. With the present invention, the brightness of a displayed image can be increased without increasing the power consumption, so that the contrast of the displayed image is increased, and the display quality of the image is also improved.

The method includes: providing a data signal of an image, and the data signal comprising grayscale values R, G, and B; obtaining brightness values LR, LG, and LB which the grayscale values R, G, and B correspond to; transforming the brightness values LR, LG, and LB into brightness values LR′, LG′, and LB′; obtaining grayscale values R′, G′, and B′ which the brightness values LR′, LG′, and LB′ correspond to; obtaining a minimum value among the grayscale values R, G, and B as a white grayscale value W′; and supplying the red subpixel, the green subpixel, the blue subpixel, and the white subpixel with the grayscale value R′, G′, B′, and white grayscale value W′, respectively so that the image can be shown on the display panel. The present invention also proposes a display system utilizing the method.
