摘要: A unique primer emulsion chemistry yields excellent adhesion of polyethylene terephthalate (PET)resin to clay coated paperboard (with high starch content)at reduced coatweights of the primer emulsion and the resin as compared to other primer and tie-resin chemistries currently employed for moisture barrier applications. A primer used for adhesion enhancement is an ammonium catalyzed, self-crosslinking copolymer of ethylene-vinyl acetate with N-methylol acryl amide functional groups attached to a polymer backbone. Use of the primer in amounts up to about 0.5 pounds per ream permits PET coatweights of as low as 10–12 lbs per ream and lower for some applications.

The cyclodextrin compound, locked into the polymer structure, can absorb impurities, permeants, or other undesirable volatile materials. The cooperation between the cyclodextrin grafted onto the thermoplastic polymer and the polymer structure can provide barrier properties to a film, web or other polymer structure. A permeant or a contaminant can be complexed or trapped within the polymer and held within the film or Web preventing the permeant or contaminant from passing into the interior of a container or enclosure.

摘要: The invention provides an image forming method, comprising transferring a toner image to an electrophotographic recording sheet, layering the electrophotographic recording sheet on a fixing belt and heating and pressing the sheet, and cooling the electrophotographic recording sheet and separating the sheet from the fixing belt. The electrophotographic recording sheet comprises a support comprising cellulose pulp-containing base paper and a toner image-receiving layer comprising a thermoplastic resin disposed on the support. A shrinkage percentage of the electrophotographic recording sheet in a CD direction in the heating step is 1.3% or less. The support preferably further comprises either a polyolefin-containing layer or a coating that contains at least one selected from the group consisting of kaolin, a pigment, a resin, a rubber latex, or a polymer material and that is provided on one or both surfaces of the base paper.
