Abstract:
Solid-state laser(s) pumped by incoherent, monochromatic light from sources such as LED arrays and integrating technologies such as high power LED arrays and solid-state laser materials in conjunction with efficient and uniform absorption of pumping energies through a diffusing pump chamber. The resulting laser(s) are compact, robust, low-cost, and able to produce high power output for practical applications. It may efficiently operate over wide temperature and performance ranges, at CW or pulse modes, even with ultra short pulse width and/or extremely high repetition rates. Our inventive structure(s) is/are highly flexible and applicable to a large group of lasing media including those with very short upper state life times. Advantageously, they may be applied to a plethora of laser systems at wavelengths that have important applications and unavailable to other direct pumping technologies.
Abstract:
A polarization element and a polarization-sensitive optical isolator are integrated to form an integrated VOA. A preferred embodiment uses a liquid crystal cell as the polarization element to which is attached an optical isolator core of a first polarizer, Faraday rotator, and second polarizer. Voltage on the liquid crystal cell electrodes controls the amount of polarized light from the liquid crystal cell passing through the first polarizer and light in the opposite direction is blocked. The integrated VOA can be mounted within a laser device package so that the power of the source laser diode on the output fiber can be controlled and yet the laser diode is protected from light undesirably entering laser device package through the output fiber.
Abstract:
An electronically activated gas cooktop control system, responsive to a touch-sensitive user interface, and capable of providing a predetermined range of cooking and simmer levels of BTU output, has two complementary heating modes of operation A first heating mode of operation is provided to produce a wide selection of simmer levels of BTU output, by electronically sequencing a solenoid-operated modulating gas valve “on” and “off”, at a predetermined level of flame. A second cooking mode of operation is provided by electronically modulating the level of flame, through use of a pulse-width-modulation (PWM) output signal to produce a wide selection of cooking levels of BTU output. An igniter system capable of insuring proper ignition of gas without generating harmful electromagnetic interference is also provided.
Abstract:
A universal serial bus (USB) cable contains: a body. The body includes a first cap, a second cap, and at least one locating disc. An accommodation case includes a first cover, a roller, a printed circuit board (PCB), an engagement sheet, and a second cover. The roller is connected with a retractable cable, and the retractable cable is connected with a charger connector. The PCB is connected with a first end of a wire, and a second end of the wire is connected with an electric connector. The second cover has an accommodating chamber for receiving the roller, the PCB, and the engagement sheet. The first cover is connected with the second cover. A protection member has a detachable adapter received therein. The charger connector of the retractable cable is accommodated in the protection member, and the accommodation case is received in the receiving space of the body.

Abstract:
A method of forming a circuitry includes providing a substrate comprising a plurality of die. Each die includes a plurality of resistive random access memory (RRAM) storage cells. The method further includes concurrently initializing substantially all of the RRAM storage cells on the same wafer. Initializing can include applying a voltage potential across the RRAM storage cells.
Abstract:
An icing detector probe includes three sections arranged sequentially along the direction of air flow, namely, a first section, a second section and a third section. The shape of the outer surface of the first section is suitable for collecting droplets in the air flow. The shape of the outer surface of the second section is suitable for full decelerating and releasing latent heat of large droplets during their movements. The outer surface of the third section is suitable for icing of large droplets. The probe detects icing by distinguishing and identify large droplets icing. The probe effectively detects types of traditional icing, thus being helpful for exact detection of icing thickness. An icing detector including said icing detector probe is also provided.
Abstract:
An apparatus for providing a user-friendly and reliable manner for managing different visual variants of objects via a user interface may include a processor and memory storing executable computer program code that cause the apparatus to at least perform operations including positioning a generated merging area, including one or more items of visible indicia corresponding to shortcuts to respective applications at a first area of a screen of a user interface. The computer program code may further cause the apparatus to change an item of visual indicia associated with an application to a transformed item of visible indicia in response to detecting movement of the item of visual indicia from a second area of the user interface to a location of an item of visible indicia of the merging area. Corresponding methods and computer program products are also provided.

Abstract:
The present invention discloses an LCD panel. The LCD panel includes a plurality of data lines, a plurality of scan lines insulatingly intersecting the data lines, and a plurality of pixel units defined by the scan lines and corresponding data lines. Any two adjacent pixel units in a same row are respectively coupled to two corresponding scan lines. Any two adjacent pixel units in a same column are respectively coupled to two corresponding data lines. In this present invention, the pixel units coupled to a same data line are respectively coupled to different scan lines so as to reduce the power consumption of the LCD panel.
