Abstract: Mobile termination control techniques to support eMBMS are described. In one embodiment, for example, an apparatus may comprise logic, at least a portion of which is in hardware, the logic to send a first AT command to enable evolved Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Service (eMBMS) support at a mobile termination (MT), send a second AT command to query the MT regarding eMBMS services available for use by the MT, receive information describing one or more available eMBMS services in response to the second AT command, and send a third AT command to configure the MT to use at least one of the one or more available eMBMS services. Abstract: Systems and methods for transmitting AT commands indicating whether Evolved Packet System (EPS) Session Management (ESM) information should be transmitted securely are disclosed herein. A Terminal Equipment (TE) may transmit an AT command to a Mobile Termination (MT). The AT command may indicate whether protocol configuration options (PCO) should be ciphered and/or whether an access point name (APN) is provided. In some embodiments, the AT command may be a dedicated command and may only include a parameter and an parameter. Alternatively, or in addition, the AT command may include a parameter, an parameter, and/or additional parameters serving additional functions. Whether the APN is provided may be determined based on whether the parameter is present and includes a non-null value. The AT command may be related to a single packet data network (PDN) connection or may relate to a plurality of PDN connections.

Abstract: Metrics may be used by user equipment (UE) to steer traffic through different access networks or to provide access network mobility decisions. For example, in one implementation, a UE may determine metrics relating to network conditions associated with at least a non-cellular access network. The metrics may include a first metric calculated based on a percentage signal strength determined based on a received signal strength of the non-cellular access network relative to a reference signal strength associated with the non-cellular access network, and a metric relating to a mobility of the UE with respect to network coverage of the non-cellular access network. The UE may route traffic to the non-cellular access network based on the first traffic steering metric and the second traffic steering metric.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for network selection are disclosed herein. User equipment (UE) includes a communication component, a rules component, and a network selection component. The communication component may be configured to communicate over a 3GPP network and a non-cellular network. The rules component may be configured to store an access network discovery and selection function (ANDSF) management object (MO) that includes wireless local area network (WLAN) selection policies for network selection on the UE. The WLAN selection policies may include interworking WLAN (I-WLAN) policies and Hotspot 2.0 (HS2.0) parameters. The network selection component is configured to select an available WLAN based on the ANDSF MO.

Abstract: A technology for a user equipment (UE) that is operable to select an internet protocol (IP) interface in a communications network is disclosed. Local policy information and access network selection information can be received from an Access Network Discovery and Selection Function (ANDSF) operating on a server in an evolved packet core (EPC). At least one IP interface on which to route an IP flow using inter access point name routing policies (IARP) can be determined prior to implementing other routing policies. The IP flow from the UE on at least one IP interface selected can be routed using the IARP.

Abstract: In embodiments, apparatuses, methods, and storage media may be described for identifying a wireless local area network (WLAN) access point (AP) with which a third generation partnership project (3GPP) user equipment (UE) should connect. Specifically, the UE may receive an indication of one or more supported connectivity options of the WLAN AP. The UE may also receive an indication of one or more public land mobile networks that the WLAN AP is able to communicate with. The UE may then select whether the UE should connect to the WLAN AP based on the received indication(s) and a selection preference rule. Other embodiments may be claimed.
