摘要： A plastically deformable stent for implantation within a body passage includes a plurality of cylindrical segments, and a plurality of connectors extending between adjacent segments. Each segment has an alternating pattern of curvilinear elements extending about its circumference, including first and second sets of curvilinear elements having different resistances to expansion, and preferably defining “U” shapes with alternating lengths that are connected to one another to define a substantially sinusoidal pattern. The connectors define a sinusoidal shape adapted to extend and compress axially substantially evenly when the adjacent segments are subjected to bending. The stent may be delivered on a device including an elongate member with a nose cone, an expandable member, and a proximal shoulder thereon, and an outer sheath for slidably receiving the elongate member therein. The outer sheath and/or nose cone may have perfusion holes for allowing continued perfusion of fluid during stent delivery. The device may be used in a method for implanting a stent within a curved region of a body passage, particularly for creating and/or maintaining a channel connecting a vein to an adjacent artery, preferably in the coronary system.

摘要： A system and method for performing a medical procedure includes a first multi-linked mechanism comprising a plurality of first links, and a lumen therethrough; a second multi-linked mechanism comprising a plurality of second links, wherein the second multi-linked mechanism is constructed and arranged to be slidingly received by the lumen of the first multi-linked mechanism, and where the first and second multi-linked mechanisms are configured to transition from a limp state to a rigid state; a set of proximal cables comprising at least a first proximal cable and a second proximal cable; a set of distal cables comprising at least a first distal cable and a second distal cable; a cable control assembly constructed and arranged to independently apply tension to the first proximal cable and the second proximal cable; a cable interface assembly constructed and arranged to receive a force from at least the first proximal cable and the second proximal cable and to transmit a corresponding force to at least the first distal cable and the second distal cable. The force applied to the first distal cable and the second distal cable steers at least one of the first multi-linked mechanism or the second multi-linked mechanism.

摘要： An apparatus for driving an articulating probe comprises an elongate probe constructed and arranged to articulate in at least one predetermined degree of motion and to transition from a flexible state to a rigid state, and a force transfer mechanism constructed and arranged to apply a force to the probe. The force is selected from the group consisting of a force that causes probe to articulate in the at least one predetermined degree of motion and a force that causes the probe to transition from the flexible state to the rigid state. The base structure is attached to portion of the force transfer mechanism and the elongate probe; the base structure comprising one or more stabilizing elements constructed and arranged to resist undesired movement of the probe caused by force from the force transfer mechanism.

The glenoid fixation member may be attached orthogonally to the scapula. A dampener may be included to absorb loads that may loosen one or more components of the prosthesis.

摘要： A catheter device and methods useable to extract material from a body conduit, e.g., a blood vessel, are provided. The catheter comprises a flexible catheter advanceable into the body conduit, an opening in a wall of the catheter in fluid communication with a material collection chamber, and a controllably arcuate segment near the distal tip of the catheter and the opening. The catheter may include a sliding member, located within a lumen of the catheter, used to move the material entering the catheter through the arcuate segment opening, into the material collection chamber and away from said opening. The catheter may include a single mechanism utilized to both generate a vacuum to cause material to enter the catheter at the arcuate segment opening and also cause the sliding member to travel, inside the catheter, moving material away from the opening and into the material collection chamber.

摘要： A tubular graft device is provided comprising a tubular member and a fiber matrix of one or more polymers about a circumference of the tubular member. The matrix may be electrospun onto the tubular tissue. In one embodiment, the tubular tissue is from a vein, such as a harvested saphenous vein, useful as an arterial graft, for example and without limitation, in a coronary artery bypass procedure. Also provided is method of preparing a tubular graft and connecting the graft between a first body space and a second body space, such as the aorta and a location on an occluded coronary artery, distal to the occlusion.
