Abstract: The present disclosure relates to systems, non-transitory computer-readable media, and methods for dynamically matching requestor devices to generate efficient transportation groups that satisfy user-selected arrival deadlines. In particular, in one or more embodiments, the disclosed systems generate timeslots corresponding to a transportation request including pick-up times, arrival deadlines, and transportation values. In response to receiving user selections of timeslots, the disclosed systems can partition requestor devices into sets of requestor devices. Additionally, the disclosed systems can utilize the sets of requestor devices to match compatible requestor devices to both maximize system efficiency and satisfy selected arrival deadlines for each requestor device.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to systems, non-transitory computer readable media, and methods for determining a transit route to a destination and generating a shortened graphical summary of the transit route to present on a computing device. For instance, in some cases, a system determines a transit route by which transit vehicles transport a user along route segments to a destination. The system further generates or configures a graphical route summary that includes segment graphics representing route segments from the transit route. To shorten the graphical route summary to fit within a graphical user interface, the system can successively perform one or both of (i) segment-level-truncation operations on individual segment graphics and (ii) summary-level-truncation operations on the graphical route summary. The system can further present a truncated graphical route summary in the graphical user interface based on one or both the segment-level-truncation operations and the summary-level-truncation operations.

Abstract: The disclosed systems can regulate access to an online mode for a dynamic transportation matching system. For example, based on a provider efficiency parameter associated with the dynamic transportation matching system, the disclosed systems can prevent a transportation provider device from switching to the online mode within a geographic area. In addition, the disclosed systems can detect a pattern of behavior and, based on a comparison between the pattern of behavior and a behavioral threshold, cause a transportation provider device to switch from the online mode to an offline mode. Further, the disclosed systems can provide a map interface that indicates where a transportation provider device can switch from the offline mode to the online mode. Additionally, the disclosed systems can determine priorities associated with transportation provider devices and, based on the prioritization, selectively allow the transportation provider devices to switch from the offline mode to the online mode.

Abstract: Methods and systems for detecting when users deviate from a provided transportation route and for correcting the transportation route in response to such user deviations is presented. In one embodiment, a method is provided including detecting a changed condition for a transportation route between a first location and a second location. The transportation route may include multiple transportation segments. A first transportation segment designating a first modality may be identified, wherein the changed condition decreases a likelihood that vehicles associated with the first modality will be available to service the first transportation segment. In response, a second transportation segment designating a second modality different from the first modality is generated. The first transportation segment is then replaced with the second transportation segment in the transportation route.

The transportation proposal, including the route for transportation, may then be transmitted for display on a mobile device.

Abstract: The disclosed computer-implemented method may include instant and optimized matching of transportation requesters with transportation providers by precomputing and caching evaluations of matching schemes between existing requests and available providers, where each of the matching schemes excludes one of the available providers. The possibility of matching any new request to a given provider may then be evaluated according to the cached results of the matching scheme that excluded that provider along with an evaluation of matching the new request to the provider, which may be a computationally easy problem. Thus, the new request may be matched to a provider instantly without waiting for the next iteration of solving the global matching problem. Matching requestors and providers in this way may also improve the accuracy of estimated time of arrival information provided to requestors. Various other methods, systems, and computer-readable media are also disclosed.

In some embodiments, transportation network may have many different ways of arranging a transportation requestor's trip, such as private rides, shared rides, immediate rides, and delayed rides. In some examples, the requestor's choice of transportation option may have an impact on the transportation network. In anticipation of or in response to a transportation request, the method may determine which transportation options will better benefit the transportation network and determine which transportation options to display to the requestor and/or the prominence with which the transportation products are displayed.
