Abstract:
A microprocessor simulation method, which is built upon the underlying hardware design of the microprocessor, stop normal functions of a simulation testcase, start the scan clocks, and record a first “snap shot” of the scan ring data at an initial time. The hardware logic then rotates (shifts) the scan ring using the current scan data, and when the scan clock stops (where the stop of the scan clock is controlled based on the number of latches on the scan ring), another “snap shot” of scan ring data is taken. The “snap shots” are compared and if both of the “snap shots” are identical the functional scan is successful. But if the functional scan verification fails to rotate the scan chain correctly, that is, if some of the latches do not match in the two “snap shots,” it becomes necessary to locate the broken spot within the large number of scan latches.
Abstract:
An apparatus for keeping a person warm while in a stand having a base connected to a tree, including a generally tubular length of material having an open end and a closed end, wherein the closed end includes a fastener for securing the apparatus to the base of the stand. A user simply inserts one or both of his or her feet and legs through the open end of the apparatus and pulls the open end of the apparatus up to a desired height. The apparatus is maintained at the desired height by an elastic band extending around the circumference of the open end.
Abstract:
The invention relates to the extrusion of filamentary strands of reconstituted tobacco through a die plate and the downstream handling thereof. The die plate is configured such that each filament is of a square or rectangular cross-section, the downstream handling of which effects draw down of the extruded filament.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for preventing incorrect insertion of individual plugs into multiple connector ports is provided. A cable bundle is provided for the purpose. The cable bundle includes a plurality of cables and at least one slider. The slider holds the plurality of cables within the cable bundle in a required sequence. The slider can be positioned along the length of the cable bundle to determine the distance between the ends of the cables. This adjusted length and the sequence in which the plurality of cables are held, prevents incorrect insertion of individual cables into connector ports. The cable bundle may include a guide.
Abstract:
An adjustable spring grounding pin for grounding separate parts of an electrical device, for example end shields and a stator of an electric motor, automatically adjusts its circumferential dimension to provide a tight grounding fit between aligned holes of different interior diameters in the end shields and the stator of the device as the grounding pin is driven into the aligned holes.
Abstract:
A method for register management in a simulation environment including receiving an instruction from an instruction unit decode pipeline. An address generation interlock (AGI) function is executed in the simulation environment if the instruction is an AGI instruction. The executing an AGI function is responsive to a pool of registers controlled by a register manager and to the instruction. An early AGI function is executed in the simulation environment if the instruction is an early AGI instruction. The executing an early AGI function is responsive to the pool of registers and to the instruction.
Abstract:
A system for handling data and transactions involving data through the use of a virtual transaction zone, which virtual transaction zone removes the dependency of such transaction on the delivery medium of the product. The invention may reside and operate on a variety of electronic devices such as televisions, VCRs, DVDs, personal computers, WebTV, any other known electronic recorder/player, or as a stand alone unit. The transaction zone also provides a mechanism for combining mediums, data feeds, and manipulation of those feeds. The transaction zone also provides a mechanism for controlling the content, delivery, and timing of delivery of the end consumer's product.
Abstract:
A bearing assembly permits one bearing bushing to be employed in both applications that permit self-aligning pivoting movement of a rotating shaft and applications that rigidly support a rotating shaft, thereby eliminating the need to inventory two different types of bearings for these two different applications.
Abstract:
A method is provided for preparing a labeled protein, immobilized protein or protein-bioactive agent composition by attaching a label, support or bioactive agent to a protein by exopeptidase catalysis at a site that is remote from the active site of the protein. More specifically, an amine or alcohol group of an amino acid, amine or alcohol nucleophile is reacted by exopeptidase catalysis with a C-terminus carboxylic acid group of a protein such as an antibody, enzyme or hormone to couple the nucleophile to the protein to form an adduct, and the adduct is bound to an auxiliary substance such as a support, label or bioactive agent or its combination with a linker arm by reacting a reactive substituent of the nucleophile with a reactive group of the auxiliary substance. Alternatively, the nucleophile is bound to the auxiliary substance or its combination with a linker arm to form an intermediate, and the intermediate is coupled by exopeptidase catalysis to the protein. The exopeptidase may be a serine or cysteine exocarboxypeptidase.
