Abstract:
An insert specifically adapted for use with an off-road tire, such as an off-road tire of a motocross motorcycle, or an off-road bicycle. The insert includes an inflatable tube and a foam element which generally conforms to the contours of the off-road tire to provide support to the tire when the tube is inflated. The ability to deflate the insert facilitates installation of the insert between the wheel rim and off-road tire. When inflated, the insert occupies the space between the wheel rim and tire to support a load during use of the wheel.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a tire-filling compound for vehicles, particularly for utility vehicles, consisting of a polyurethane component and a solid particle component, wherein the polyurethane component consists of a two-component polyurethane elastomer, wherein the solid particle component is formed from cork particles, as well as to a method for the production of a tire filling having such a tire-filling compound, and to an apparatus for implementation of the method.
Abstract:
A cellular tire liner and air chamber system for pneumatic tires comprising a cellular tire liner interposed between the interior surface of a tire and an air chamber with an annular interface that extends from the air chamber to the interior surface of the tire, in the tread area of the tire and disconnects the sidewall portions of the tire liner from each other.
Abstract:
Field of Invention The present invention relates to a pneumatic tire having its internal cavity containing a closed cellular rubber which contains a dispersion of at least two diverse carbon blacks to promote an improved path for thermal conductivity with suitable physical properties for the closed cellular foam rubber.
Abstract:
A tire having a core located in a tire cavity and a cured and foamed elastomeric material located in the tire cavity adjacent the core. The core is made of a solid material, a precured and foamed elastomeric material or a hollow rigid structure. The core may be a single piece or fabricated from multiple pieces.
Abstract:
A runflat tire system comprises a pneumatic tire, a wheel rim on which the pneumatic tire is mounted, and a support ring made of an elastic material and disposed in a cavity surrounded by an inner surface of the rim and an inner surface of the tire mounted thereon, wherein the support ring comprises an annular body extending in a circumferential direction of the tire and being provided with a plurality of recesses each opening at the cavity, and at least two sound reflectors each being attached to the recess and including an outer surface made of a non-porous material so as to reflect sound in the cavity.
Abstract:
A safety support for mounting on a rim of a vehicle wheel within a tire includes a substantially toroidal hollow annular body and a filling of elastically deformable expanded material. The annular body includes a convex radially outer surface, two axially opposite side surfaces, and devices for associating the annular body to the rim. The annular body is made of a rigid and substantially non-extensible material and is elastically deformable under load for absorbing stresses imparted to the tire in case of pressure loss by the tire. Each side surface is connected to the radially outer surface by respective first axially opposite connecting portions. A safety system for the vehicle wheel includes a tire and the safety support. The vehicle wheel includes the tire, the safety support, and the rim.
Abstract:
A process for cross-linking/expanding at least one cross-linkable, expandable blank, which is intended to form all or part of an elastomeric safety support for a tire in which: the cross-linking consists of curing the expandable or expanded blank in a bath of fluid at excess pressure which is contained in an enclosure, such that the blank interacts with the bath independently of the enclosure, the temperature of the bath having a maximum value of between 110° C. and 210° C. and the absolute pressure of said bath having at least a value equal to or greater than 14 bar, and the expansion consists of curing the cross-linkable or cross-linked blank in the bath, the temperature of the bath having a maximum value of between 110° C. and 210° C., and the absolute pressure of the bath having at least a value equal to or greater than 5 bar and a final pressure-relief value substantially equal to 1 bar, for expanding the blank such that its increase in volume is unlimited with respect to the enclosure.
Abstract:
A support ring for vehicle tires is disclosed. The support ring is to be mounted on a tire wheel for support of the underside of the tire when the tire is operated at underinflated conditions. The support ring has a base, a cap, and a series of supporting arches extending between the base and the cap. The highest point of the arch contacts the support ring cap. During load, the arch flexes and transmits the load force along the arch sides and to the base of the support ring.
Abstract:
A safety support (1) is described intended for being mounted on a rim (2) of a vehicle wheel within a tire (3), for supporting said tire (3) in case of pressure loss, which support comprises a substantially toroidal hollow annular body (5) made of a rigid and substantially non-extensible material including a filling (6) of elastically deformable expanded material. Advantageously, the safety support (1) of the invention is resistant to centrifugation and has an adequate contact surface with the crown portion (33), without however involving an excessive increase in the total weight of the wheel wherein the same is mounted.
