Abstract:
A high wax content heavy oil remover comprises dipropylene glycol mono n-butyl ether, ethoxylated alkyl mercaptan, salt of an alkyl aromatic sulfonic acid, branched alcohol ethoxylate, d-limonene, and white oil.
Abstract:
A stripping and cleaning composition for removing resists and etching residue from substrates containing hydroxylamine and at least one alkanolamine is described. Further, a cleaning composition for removing etching residue from semiconductor substrates containing hydroxylamine, at least one alkanolamine, at least one chelating agent, and water is described. The preferred chelating agent is 1,2-dihydroxybenzene or a derivative thereof. The chelating agent provides added stability and effectiveness to the cleaning composition.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a machine dishwashing composition comprising from 1% to 80% by weight of detergent builder compound oxygen-releasing bleaching agent from 0.05% to 2.5% by weight, preferably 0.1% to 1% by weight of paraffin oil, nitrogen-containing corrosion inhibitor compound Most preferably the oxygen-releasing bleaching agent is incorporated such that the level of available oxygen measured according to the method herein is from 0.3 to 1.7, preferably 0.5 to 1.2
Abstract:
The invention relates to iron control in an acid medium for forestalling the formation of precipitates known as "sludges" (asphaltic products) in contact with certain crude oils.Use is made of compounds comprising a mercaptan function non miscible in water and, in combination, a selection of catalysts.Application to acid treatments for oil, gas, water, geothermal and analogous wells, as well as to industrial cleaning.
Abstract:
Methods for disinfecting a lens is disclosed. The methods comprise contacting a lens to be disinfected in a liquid medium with at least one chlorine dioxide precursor in the presence of at least one activator component selected from organic acid anhydrides, oxygen-releasing components and mixtures thereof to effect formation of chlorine dioxide from the chlorine dioxide precursor, thereby disinfecting the lens. Compositions useful in the above-noted methods are also disclosed.
Abstract:
A method for disinfection a device such as a contact lens. The method comprises contacting the device with an aqueous liquid medium containing an effective amount of chlorine dioxide at effective disinfecting conditions. The chlorine dioxide being derived by contacting a liquid medium containing chlorine dioxide precursor with a transition metal component in an effective amount to promote the generation of chlorine dioxide from the chlorine dioxide precursor. The liquid medium further optionally containing a buffer component in an amount effective to maintain the liquid medium at a desired pH during the generation of chlorine dioxide, and to increase the rate of chlorine dioxide generation from chlorine dioxide precursor relative to a similar liquid medium without the buffer component.
Abstract:
A method of disinfecting a contact lens is disclosed and comprises placing the contact lens to be disinfected into a liquid electrolyte containing chlorine dioxide precursor, e.g., stabilized chlorine dioxide, and forming a disinfecting amount of chlorine dioxide in the liquid electrolyte by passing an electric current through the liquid electrolyte.
Abstract:
A specially formulated composition is provided for the cleaning and polishing of cymbals. The formulation, which is an aqueous suspension, can be applied by squeeze bottle. The composition not only removes dirt and provides a glossy shine, but retards subsequent tarnishing of the brass cymbal. The active ingredients of the composition include kaolin clay, Hydrochloric acid, its sodium salt, an anionic surfactant, and water.
Abstract:
Novel salts of .alpha.-substituted-.beta.-sulfosuccinic acids having the general formula: ##EQU1## wherein R is hydrogen or an organic moiety, Z is selected from the group consisting of O, S, SO, SO.sub.2, N and NO and M is an alkali metal, ammonium or substituted ammonium cations, useful as detergents and/or detergent builders and detergent compositions containing same.
