摘要: A system for storing energy includes a body and a shaft having walls defining an internal volume for containing a fluid, a seal member disposed between the body and the walls of the shaft, and a fluid passage in fluid communication with the shaft. The body is disposed within the internal volume of the shaft for movement with gravity from a first elevation position to a second elevation position within the internal volume of the shaft. The seal member divides the internal volume into a first portion located below the body and a second portion located above the body. The fluid passage communicates fluid with the first portion of the interior volume of the shaft. The system further includes a pump/turbine operatively coupled with the fluid passage to drive a motor/generator to generate electricity upon movement of the body from the first elevation position to the second elevation position.

摘要: The invention relates to a hydraulic machine having turbines or a pump turbine, comprising an impeller that is mounted such as to be rotatable about a vertical axis of rotation and has a plurality of blades, an inlet spiral that surrounds the impeller in an annular manner and has a circular outlet opening on the inner circumferential ring thereof, a distributor and/or closure device for adjusting the inflow into the impeller, and an intake manifold for guiding of the water flowing out of the impeller. The intake manifold is arranged above the impeller. At least a bypass pipe can be provided for bypassing the distributor and/or closure device, which bypass pipe connects the inlet spiral directly to the impeller when a bypass valve arranged in the run of said bypass pipe is opened. Furthermore, at least one drainage pipe can be provided for draining the impeller, which drainage pipe connects the impeller directly to a pump sump when a drainage valve arranged in the nm of said drainage pipe is opened. The invention also relates to a method for filling and draining such a machine, and to the preferred use thereof.

摘要: The invention is a wave energy device which optimizes energy conversion from waves with a stable submerged platform coupled to compliant chain of floats (“pods”) which are connected to the platform by piston pumps. Wave action drives pumps to deliver pressurized water to a hydro turbine coupled to an electric generator for delivery of electric power to shore via a submarine cable. Alternatively, the pressurized water may be delivered to shore through pipes on the ocean floor, to generate electric power, also as input flow for reverse osmosis potable water production and for cooling applications.

摘要: A tubular housing can include at least one fixed helical vane formed onto the inner surfaces of the tubular housing in a spiral and adapted to direct fluid into a spiraled flow and focus fluid onto a fan blade assembly associated with an alternator system and located within the tubular housing before a system exhaust. A generator cone can be mounted near the center and front of the fan blade assembly facing fluid passing through the tubular housing. As fluid passes over the generator cone it experiences compression between the generator cone and housing resulting in increased pressure and velocity of the fluid, thereby increasing rotational speed of the generator blades and generator as the compressed, spiraled fluid passes through the blades and exits the tubular housing. The system can be used for fixed or mobile applications in water, wind and manually induced fluid flow.

摘要: The hydroelectric power generating system incorporates a man-made dam structure configured to completely enclose a body of water. The dam is preferably filled by pumping seawater into the reservoir defined by the encircling dam. A circumferential canal feeds water to one or more penstocks. Each penstock has one or more hydroelectric turbine generators installed therealong. The penstocks feed an enclosed circumferential channel about the base of the dam. The channel delivers water to a pump that pumps the water back into the bottom of the reservoir. An auxiliary hydroelectric power generating system disposed within the dam utilizes the water exiting from the lower end of the penstocks for additional production of energy. While this system results in a net loss of energy, the system can make use of surplus power to drive the return pump during periods of low electrical demand in order to replenish the reservoir.
