    Abstract: An example communication system includes a communication management resource to control conveyance of data associated with a wireless communication link over a network path. The communication management resource receives a notification of a mobile communication device requesting to establish wireless connectivity with a wireless base station. The notification may indicate a type of communications to be supported by the wireless connectivity. In response to the notification, the communication management resource selects first data flow control settings based on the indicated type of communications associated with the wireless connectivity. The communication management resource then implements the first data flow control settings in a network path between the wireless base station and the remote network to support the type of communications indicated by the notification.

    Abstract: The present invention provides a joint optimization method and system for delay and spectrum occupation in a cloud-edge collaborative network. The method includes: initializing a cloud-edge collaborative network, and generating a set of user requests; establishing a target function of minimum average end-to-end delay and minimum spectrum slot occupation of a user request; during processing of each user request based on the target function, sequentially determining whether a node and path selection uniqueness constraint, a mobile edge computing (MEC) server load constraint, a spectrum resource occupation and uniqueness constraint, a spectrum continuity constraint, and a spectrum consistency constraint are satisfied, where if all constraints are satisfied, the user request is successfully processed, and the process turns to step S4; or if any constraint is not satisfied, the user request fails to be processed; and calculating average end-to-end delay and spectrum resource occupancy of the user request.

    Abstract: A hybrid 5G/DSL service provides an on-premises router device that monitors both wireless and wired data connections to provide optimized service using both connections. A 5G/DSL router can make use of “always available” bandwidth of a DSL connection to avoid overuse of more limited wireless bandwidth while augmenting and/or substituting with wireless bandwidth as needed. A hybrid 5G/DSL service may be especially convenient for rural customers who may not have access to fiber or cable-based data services. Moreover, the 5G/DSL hybrid service may provide a cost effective option for customers who simply want to augment DSL service in limited situations (e.g., for occasional media streaming) rather than paying for “always-available” higher bandwidth connections that remain largely underutilized much of the time.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are described for providing network access services to mobile users via mobile terminals over a satellite system. In embodiments, dynamic multiplexing of traffic from fixed terminals and mobile users on the same satellite beam can take advantage of statistical multiplexing of large numbers of users and on different usage patterns between fixed terminals and mobile users. In embodiments, quality-of-service (QoS) is controlled for mobile devices at a per-user level. Mobile users may be provisioned on the satellite system according to a set of traffic policies based on their service level agreement (SLA). System resources of the satellite may be allocated to mobile users based on the demand of each mobile user and the set of traffic polices associated with each mobile user, regardless of which mobile terminal is used to access the system.
