    摘要: A two-photon probe for real-time monitoring of intracellular magnesium ions is provided. Specifically, the two-photon probe is represented by Formula 1: wherein R is H or CH2OCOCH3. The two-photon probe is very suitable for real-time imaging of intracellular magnesium ions. The two-photon probe shows 17-fold two-photon excited fluorescence enhancement in response to Mg2+, which is 7-fold stronger than commercial probes, thus enabling staining of cells in a greatly reduced amount. In addition, the two-photon probe has a sufficiently low molecular weight to stain cells and is very suitable for monitoring Mg2+ ions present in the deep tissue. Furthermore, the two-photon probe can be effectively used for the quantitative as well as qualitative detection of intracellular magnesium ions. Further provided are a method for preparing the two-photon probe and a method for real-time monitoring of intracellular magnesium ions using the two-photon probe.

    摘要: The present invention provides isolated cells that comprise, integrated into the genome of the cell, a transcription-competent immunodeficiency virus or a transcription-competent immunodeficiency virus-based retroviral vector. Under basal in vitro culture conditions, the immunodeficiency virus is latent, and the expression of the latent immunodeficiency virus can be reactivated. The invention farther provides methods of making a subject cell. The invention further provides screening methods for identifying agents that activate a latent immunodeficiency virus; and screening method for identifying agents that block reactivation of latent immunodeficiency virus expression in response to T cell activation signals. The invention further provides agents identified in the subject screening assays. The invention further provides methods of treating an immunodeficiency virus infection.

The measurement cavity has a predetermined fixed thickness. The sample acquiring device further comprises a reagent, which is arranged in a dried form on a surface defining the measurement cavity. The reagent comprises a hemolysing agent for lysing red blood cells in the blood sample, and a staining agent for selectively staining white blood cells in the blood sample. A system comprises the sample acquiring device and a measurement apparatus. The measurement apparatus comprises a sample acquiring device holder, a light source, and an imaging system for acquiring a digital image of a magnification of the sample. The measurement apparatus further comprises an image analyser arranged to analyse the acquired digital image for determining the number of white blood cells in the blood sample.
