To provide a heat treatment method to efficiently heat-treat an object without depending on the material of the object, a heat treatment layer includes a light-to-heat conversion layer to convert light energy into thermal energy and a base material. The heat treatment sheet is opposed to an object and exposed to light. Thus, the object is heat-treated by thermal energy generated from the light-to-heat conversion layer.

A method is provided that is capable of forming a wiring pattern having an extremely flat surface and few convexo-concave shapes on a substrate on which the wiring pattern is formed. The method form a wiring pattern includes a bank forming process, a conductive layer forming process and a transferring process. Here, a photothermal converting layer including a photothermal converting material that converts light energy to thermal energy and a sublimation layer including a sublimable material are stacked on a first substrate in this order. In the bank forming process, a first light irradiation is performed to a fixed region on a surface of the first substrate from the sublimation layer side so as to sublimate a part of the sublimation layer, thereby forming banks made of the sublimation layer to a region excluding the region for light irradiation. In the conductive layer forming process, a conductive layer is provided between the banks. In the transferring process, a conductive pattern layer including the conductive layer and the banks, and a substrate to be treated are faced. Then, a second light irradiation is performed to the faced substrates so as to transfer the conductive pattern layer to the substrate to be treated.

A method for manufacturing an electro-optical device in which thin film layers are formed by drying droplets containing a thin film layer formation material, and these thin film layers are laminated to form a light emitting element, includes mixing lyophilic microparticles that are lyophilic with respect to droplets that form an upper thin film layer into droplets that form a lower thin film layer, and drying the droplets in which these lyophilic microparticles have been mixed to form the lower thin film layer, and then drying the droplets that form the upper thin film layer on the lower thin film layer to laminate the upper thin film layer over the lower thin film layer.

An ink cartridge that is filled with ink and, used with the ink cartridge loaded into a printer includes a reservoir that reserves the ink, an outlet through which the ink is supplied to the printer with the ink cartridge loaded, at least one ink supply system that includes a channel that leads the ink from the reservoir to the outlet, and a sensor that detects whether the channel is filled with the ink or gas, an ink cartridge terminal that is electrically coupled to the sensor and makes contact with a printer terminal disposed on the printer upon loading of the ink cartridge. A detection region of the channel where detection is carried out by the sensor is previously filled with gas with the ink cartridge yet to be used. Whether or not the use of the ink cartridge is proper is determined based on information from the sensor.

An electroluminescence device includes a tubular first electrode, an electroluminescence layer formed on an inner surface of the first electrode, and a second electrode formed on an inner surface of the electroluminescence layer. A method for manufacturing the electroluminescence device includes: causing the inner surface of the first electrode to be lyophilic with respect to an electroluminescence layer forming liquid; conducting the electroluminescence layer forming liquid into and out of the inside of the first electrode, thereby forming a liquid film of the electroluminescence layer forming liquid on the inner surface of the first electrode, which inner surface is lyophilic with respect to the electroluminescence layer forming liquid; and forming the electroluminescence layer by drying the liquid film of the electroluminescence layer forming liquid formed on the inner surface of the first electrode.
