    Abstract: An endoscope light source apparatus includes a first light source section that emits first light, a second light source section that emits second light, and an optical path combiner that combines an optical path of the first light and an optical path of the second light. The etendue of the first light source section is smaller than the etendue of the second light source section. The optical path combiner has an optical deflection surface that deflects the second light, and has an aperture that allows the first light to pass through it within an area of the optical deflection surface. The optical path combiner deflects the second light so that a center axis of the optical path of the second light deflected by the optical deflection surface corresponds to a center axis of the optical path of the first light that has passed through the aperture.

    Abstract: A light guide sensor includes a light source, a light guide member comprising a core which guides light radiated from the light source, a cladding formed around the core, and at least one detecting portion is formed, and a light receiving unit which receives the light that has been guided by the member and has passed via the detecting portion. The detecting portion includes a first opening formed by removal in the outer circumference of the member so that at least part of the cladding is left by a thickness such as not to transmit the light from the core, and a second opening formed within the range of the first opening to transmit the light from the core. A method of forming such a light guide sensor is provided.

    Abstract: A driving method of a light source apparatus includes causing a primary light source to emit checking light. The checking light has light intensity sufficient to check a state of the light source apparatus and unharmful to the human body even when the checking light leaks. This emission is based on an output signal from a photodetector having detected a light radiated from a light conversion unit. The method further includes checking a state of the light source apparatus.     Abstract: The wavelength conversion member includes a plurality of fluorescent members that absorb the excitation light and emit fluorescent light having a peak wavelength different from the peak wavelength of the excitation light. The wavelength conversion member has a surface irradiated with excitation light that faces an excitation light emitting surface of the excitation light source. The optical axis passes the center of the surface irradiated with excitation light.     Abstract: An irradiation module mechanically detachably attached to a light source module includes a first light source light entrance end which allows entry of first light source light from a first light source module, a first light guide member to guide the first light source light entered the first light source light entrance end, a second light source light entrance end which allows entry of second light source light from a second light source module, and a second light guide member to guide the second light source light entered the second light source light entrance end. The first light guide member and the second light guide member have optical specifications which correspond to optical characteristics of the light source light to be guided and in which the optical characteristics are different from each other.
