Abstract:
Disclosed are a lyocell material for a cigarette filter and a method of preparing the same, wherein a crimped tow is manufactured using a lyocell multifilament including low-strength lyocell monofilaments, and thus the ultimately prepared lyocell material for a cigarette filter can exhibit low strength, thereby increasing processing efficiency during the manufacture of the cigarette filter.
Abstract:
An object of the invention is to provide a nanofiber having excellent uniformity of the fiber diameter and capable of giving a satisfactory external appearance in a case in which the nanofiber is used to produce a nonwoven fabric, and a nonwoven fabric produced using the nanofiber. The nanofiber of the invention is a nanofiber containing a cellulose acylate having a degree of substitution of from 2.75 to 2.95.
Abstract:
Flame resistant fabrics are formed by warp and fill yarns having different fiber contents. The fabrics are constructed, for example, by selection of a suitable weaving pattern, such that the body side of the fabric and the face side of the fabric have different properties. The fabrics described herein can be printable and dyeable on both sides of the fabric and are suitable for use in military and industrial garments. Methods of forming flame resistant fabrics, and methods for forming garments from the fabrics, are also described.
Abstract:
Textiles are provided that include fibrous cellulosic materials having an α-cellulose content of less than about 93%, the fibrous materials being spun, woven, knitted, or entangled. The fibrous cellulosic materials can be irradiated with a dose of ionizing radiation that is sufficient to increase the molecular weight of the cellulosic materials without causing significant depolymerization of the cellulosic materials. Methods of treating textiles that include irradiating the textiles are also provided.
Abstract:
Provided are a cellulose acetate fiber and a cellulose acetate fiber molded article which are excellent in water solubility and biodegradability and are small in load onto the natural environment even when allowed to stand still in the environment. The invention provides a cellulose acetate fiber containing cellulose acetate having a total degree of acetyl substitution of 0.4 to 1.3 and a compositional distribution index (CDI) of 2.0 or less as well as a cellulose acetate fiber molded article.

Abstract:
The invention relates to a polymer composition formed from a biologically degradable polymer and a material from sea plants and/or shells of sea animals or at least two components selected from the group consisting of saccharides and the derivatives thereof, proteins, amino acids, vitamins and metal ions. The invention additionally relates to a molded article formed from the polymer composition. The molded article may be packaging material or fibrous material, in the form of fibrous material as a mixing component for the production of yarns, and in the form of fibrous material for the production of nonwoven fabrics or woven fabrics.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a polymer composition comprising a biologically degradable polymer and a material from sea plants and/or shells of sea animals or at least two components selected from the group consisting of saccharides and the derivatives thereof, proteins, amino acids, vitamins and metal ions. The invention additionally relates to a molded article comprising said polymer composition. Said molded article may be used packaging material or fibrous material, in the form of fibrous material as mixing component for the production of yarns, and in the form of fibrous material for the production of nonwoven fabrics or woven fabrics.
