Abstract: A film joining apparatus includes a first transport path (31) along which an old film (12) is transported and onto which a new film (15) whose leading end has been taken out is set, a second transport path (32) which is connected to the first transport path (31) and along which the old film (12) is transported, and a branch path (34) which is branched from the first transport path (31) and the second transport path (32) at a connecting section (33) therebetween. The apparatus further includes a heat fusion unit (40) disposed at the branch path (34) to join the tail end of the old film (12) and the leading end of the new film (15) by heat fusion, and a blower (39) disposed facing the connecting section (33) and adapted to jet an operating gas. The leading end of the new film (15) is introduced into the deepest portion of the branch path (34) in advance. When the operating gas is jetted from the blower (39), the old film (12) is pushed into the branch path (34) due to the pressure of the operating gas, so that the tail end of the old film (12) reaches the deepest portion of the branch path (34). Since it is not necessary to insert a pusher or the like into the branch path (34), static electricity is prevented from being generated in the pusher, the branch path (34), etc.

Abstract: A package for a stick-like article includes a first film having flat portions (14b) and a bulging portion (14a) for enclosing a stick-like article, and a second film which is joined to the first film by heat sealing. Joint portions (33, 34) are formed near both longitudinal ends. Since the package is separated from a packaging container (11) except for areas near both longitudinal ends, fingers can be easily inserted between the package for a stick-like article and the packaging container (11). This makes it easy to remove the package for a stick-like article from the packaging container (11). Since the width of the flat portions (14b) at the lateral edges of the package for a stick-like article can be made narrower, the width of the package becomes narrower. Accordingly, the consumption of the first and second films can be reduced. When perforations (36, 37) are formed at locations which are offset from the joint portions (33, 34) toward the center of the package, the perforations (36, 37) act as breaking lines. Accordingly, the package for a stick-like article can be easily removed from the packaging container (11).

Abstract: In a multiple type air conditioner system which includes a plurality of outdoor units and a plurality of indoor units, the plurality of outdoor units are connected with the plurality of indoor units through a communication line, address setting is attained by generating a random address from each of all the indoor units under a command of one of the outdoor units and generating a dummy address from each outdoor unit on the basis of the random address, by obtaining a correlative relationship between the outdoor and indoor units on the basis of a variation of a physical quantity of the outdoor unit connected to the indoor unit actually operated based on the dummy address, and by updating the addresses of all the outdoor and indoor units on the basis of the correlative relationships between all the outdoor and indoor units obtained through the step.

Abstract: Means for changing-over address signals is provided in an address input portion, and the order of the signals to be input to an address decoder is changed according to external control signals. Alternatively, a reading output circuit is provided which reads data in bit unit different from that of the writing input circuit. Thus, data can be read and written even when the number of bits of data differs between in case of accessing a built-in memory of an LSI inside the LSI and in case of accessing it from outside the LSI.

Abstract: Artificial cultivation of mushrooms is described, comprising growing the mushrooms in a culture medium comprising a fungal bed and a covering soil having laid therebetween a water-absorbing sheet composed of a porous sheet and a water-absorbing polymeric substance. The present invention yields various advantages; for example, even if the frequency of water-spray is considerably reduced, the water content of the covering soil can be maintained at 70 to 80%. Thus, it permits production of high quality mushrooms in high yields.
