Mono- and multi-layer films comprising a polyethylene composition which comprises the reaction product of ethylene and optionally one or more alpha olefin comonomers in the presence of a catalyst composition comprising a multi-metallic procatalyst via a solution polymerization process in at least one reactor; wherein said polyethylene composition is characterized by one or more of the following properties: a melt index, I2, measured according to ASTM D 1238 (2.16 kg @ 190° C.), from 0.1 to 5 g/10 min; density, measured according to ASTM D-792, from 0.910 to 0.935 g/cc; melt flow ratio, I10/I2, wherein I10 is measured according to ASTM D1238 (10 kg @ 190° C.), from 6 to 7.4; and molecular weight distribution, (Mw/Mn) from 2.5 to 3.5 are provided. Also provided are articles made from the mono- and/or multi-layer films.

Disclosed herein is a multilayer film comprising two outer layers; where each outer layer comprises polyethylene; two tie layers; where each tie layer comprises a crystalline block composite; where each tie layer has a first face and a second face that are opposed to each other, and where the first face of each tie layer contacts at least one outer layer; and a core layer; where the core layer comprises a polypropylene; where the second face of each tie layer contacts the core layer. Disclosed herein is a method that includes coextruding the aforementioned multilayered film.

Disclosed herein is a multilayered article comprising a core layer comprising a thermoplastic polymer; where the thermoplastic polymer comprises a polyolefin, thermoplastic starch, and a compatibilizer; where the compatibilizer does not contain ethylene acrylic acid; where the polyolefin is not polypropylene and where the polyolefin present in an amount of greater than 40 wt %, based on a total weight of the core layer; a first layer comprising a thermoplastic resin; and a second layer comprising a thermoplastic resin; where the first layer and the second layer are devoid of fillers; where the first layer is disposed on a side of the core layer that is opposed to the side that contacts the second layer; where the multilayered article has an optical clarity of greater than 80% when measured as per ASTM D 1746 and a total haze less than 8% when measured as per ASTM D 1003.

The present disclosure provides a coextruded multilayer film. The coextruded multilayer film includes a core component having from 10 to 1000 alternating layers of layer A and layer B. Layer A has a thickness from 30 nm to 1000 nm and includes a polymer selected from an ethylene/a-olefin copolymer, an ethylene vinyl acetate polymer (EVA), an ethylene methyl-acrylate copolymer (EMA), an ethylene n-butyl acetate polymer (EnBA), and combinations thereof. Layer B has a thickness from 30 nm to 1000 nm. Layer B is a blend composed of (i) a polymer selected from an ethylene-based polymer, an EVA, an EMA, an EnBA, and combinations thereof, and (ii) a particulate filler material. The core component has a water vapor transmission rate from 50 to less than 500 g-mil/m2/24 hr and a carbon dioxide transmission rate from 50,000 to 300,000 cc-mil/m2/24 hr/atm.

Disclosed in more detail in this application are ethylene interpolymer films having one or more layers, comprising surface layer comprising: (A) a silane-containing ethylene interpolymer comprising (1) an ethylene interpolymer having a density of less than 0.905 g/cm3, and (2) at least 0.1 percent by weight alkoxysilane; characterized by: (3) having a volume resistivity of greater than 5×1015 ohm-cm as measured at 60 C. In one embodiment, such ethylene interpolymer has a residual boron content of less than 10 ppm and residual aluminum content of less than 100 ppm. Also disclosed are laminated electronic device modules comprising: A. at least one electronic device, and B. one of the ethylene interpolymer films as described above in intimate contact with at least one surface of the electronic device. Such laminated electronic device modules according to the invention have been shown to suffer reduced potential induced degradation (“PID”).
