    摘要: An integrated circuit that performs data demodulation on partially despread symbols includes a despreading unit, a channel compensation unit, and a symbol combiner. The despreading unit despreads input samples and provides despread symbols for a first code channel with a first spreading factor. The channel compensation unit multiplies the despread symbols with channel estimates and provides demodulated symbols. The symbol combiner combines groups of demodulated symbols to obtain recovered data symbols for a second code channel with a second spreading factor that is an integer multiple of the first spreading factor. The channel compensation and symbol combining are dependent on whether or not transmit diversity is used. For a TDM design, despread symbols for multiple first code channels are processed in a TDM manner, one channel at a time, to obtain recovered data symbols for multiple second code channels. The channel compensation unit and symbol combiner can be operated in a pipelined manner.

    摘要: The process of bonding a first workpiece to a second workpiece is disclosed comprising the steps of fabricating a sintered bonding pad formed from a matrix of randomly oriented metallic fibers. The bonding pad is interposed between the first and the second workpiece and the first and second workpieces are biased into engagement with the bonding pad. Heat is applied to the first workpiece to the second workpiece for transforming substantially all of the metallic fibers into a liquid for bonding the first workpiece to the second workpiece.

    摘要: Systems and methods for monitoring a plumbing system. A sensor module includes an acoustic flow sensor, and is configured to be attached to a water pipe. In response to receiving sound at the acoustic flow sensor above a threshold level, the sensor module wakes up from a low-power sleep mode and begins collecting acoustic data. The acoustic data is analyzed to determine if water is flowing through the pipe, and if so, a thermal flow sensor may also be activated. Flow data is collected while the water is flowing to document the flow event. In response to the sensor module determining the flow of water has stopped, the collected data is transmitted to a remote server, and the sensor module returns to sleep mode. Multiple sensor modules can be deployed to form a sensor network that communicates wirelessly to monitor the plumbing system.

    摘要: One embodiment of the present invention provides an automatic gain control (AGC) module for a wireless communication system that includes a plurality of amplifiers. The AGC module includes a receiving mechanism configured to receive an input that indicates a total amount of gain adjustment; a collecting mechanism configured to collect a number of parameters associated with the amplifiers; a determining mechanism configured to determine a desired performance requirement; a gain-control engine configured to generate a gain profile for the amplifiers based on the collected parameters, the total amount of gain, and the desired performance requirement; and an output mechanism configured to output a plurality of control signals based on the generated gain profile, wherein a respective control signal independently controls gain of a corresponding amplifier, thereby enabling the wireless communication system to achieve the total amount of gain adjustment while meeting the desired performance requirement.
