摘要: An ATM switching system comprises a switch unit including a plurality of input ports and a plurality of output ports having the same cell transmission rate, and a multiplexer for multiplexing cell trains outputted from at least two output ports into a single cell train and outputting the cell train to a high-speed output line (and/or a demultiplexer for demultiplexing a cell train from an output port into a plurality of cell trains and outputting the cell trains to a plurality of low-speed output lines). The switch unit includes a buffer memory for temporarily storing cells inputted from the input ports while forming a queue chain for each output line to which each cell is to be outputted, a demultiplexer for distributing the cells read from the buffer memory among the output ports in circulation, and a buffer memory control circuit for controlling the write and read operation of cells with the shared buffer memory. The buffer memory control circuit has a control table device for outputting an identifier of an output line to which the cells read from the shared buffer memory are to be outputted, and cells are read from the chain designated by the output line identifier outputted from the control table device.

摘要: The invention relates to a high-density DRAM fabrication technique for forming a source/drain contact between word lines in a self-alignment manner, with the offset length between a source region and a drain region of a peripheral transistor maintained at an adequate value. After gate electrodes (i.e. word lines) are formed, a first insulating layer, which is thin enough not to block up space defined between the word lines, is deposited. The source/drain contact is etched as deep as the first insulating layer is thick to form an extraction electrode made of polycrystalline silicon. A second insulating layer is deposited until a spacer thickness (i.e. the sum of the film thickness of the second insulating layer and the film thickness of the first insulating layer) for determining the offset length is obtained. The first and second insulating layers are etched back for a distance corresponding to the sum of the film thickness of the second insulating layer and the film thickness of the first insulating layer so that a spacer (i.e. the residue of the insulating layers) is left on the side walls of the gate electrode. An implantation of highlevel impurities is performed to form heavily doped source and drain regions of a peripheral transistor. In-cell self-align contact is made possible while maintaining the offset length of the heavily doped source and drain regions

摘要: The present invention is aimed at providing a magnetic disk and a magnetic disk apparatus both of which have a high performance lubricating film which makes continuous sliding endurance and low adhesiveness compatible, and a lubricating film having a self repairing function which makes it possible to recombine scratched off lubricating agent from the magnetic disk surface by sliding with a head onto the magnetic disk surface. The lubricating film comprises at least two kinds of lubricating agents each of which forms an individual layer, the layers being laminated. An adhesion enhancing layer is formed between a magnetic film and a lubricating agent at the surface of the magnetic disk, and the adhesion enhancing layer is fixed onto the magnetic film surface. Then, the adhesion enhancing layer and the lubricating agent are combined. The adhesion enhancing layer and the lubricating agent form a salt or complex body, and the lubricating agent can repeat adsorption and desorption with the adhesion enhancing layer reversely by a thermal reaction.

摘要: An electromagnetic clutch for a compressor in an air conditioning apparatus for an automobile. A temperature fuse unit 13 is arranged in an electric circuit for an electromagnetic coil of the clutch for opening the circuit when a temperature increase is generated due to an occurrence of seizing. The temperature fuse unit 13 is arranged in a coil housing 4 at a location adjacent a frictional surface 2a of a rotor of the clutch and an inner sleeve portion 4a of the coil housing 4. During normal operation of the clutch, heat around the electromagnetic coil is transmitted to the coil housing of an increased heat conductivity, made of a magnetizing metal materials, thereby preventing the temperature around the temperature fuse 13 from being increased. At an occurrence of seizing of the compressor, heat generated by a sliding contact between an armature 8 and rotor 2 is quickly transmitted to the temperature fuse 13 via an end of the inner sleeve portion 4b of the coil housing 4, which allows the temperature fuse to be instantly melted and thus opened.

摘要: The present invention writes intrinsic information such as the current time, etc. to both a memory and a storage medium when an exchangeable storage medium inserted in a drive device is mounted to a system. If the storage medium is removed from the drive device when the storage medium is being I/O accessed, then the execution of the present and the succeeding I/O requests is suspended. Then, if a storage medium is inserted in the drive device, then it is checked whether or not the intrinsic information stored in the memory has been written to the storage medium. Only when the information has been written to the storage medium, the suspended request for the storage medium is resumed. Accordingly, even if a storage medium has been erroneously removed from the drive device, all I/O requests are surely executed without being lost if the erroneously removed medium is inserted again. Furthermore, the data in a replacing storage medium won't be erroneously lost, either. The stop of power supply for a drive device is permitted only when a storage medium is not mounted to a system. Therefore, all I/O requests for the storage medium have been executed, and the data in another storage medium are not lost when power supply is resumed with another storage medium inserted during the suspension of the electric power supply.
