摘要: A method of removing at least one cationic dye from an aqueous solution. The method includes contacting the aqueous solution with an adsorbent comprising a water-insoluble membrane disposed on a substrate. The water-insoluble membrane comprises cross-linked humic acid, at least one alginate, and hydroxyethyl cellulose. The contacting forms a treated aqueous solution having a lower concentration of the at least one cationic dye relative to the aqueous solution.

摘要: A pressure vessel having an outer shell and a flexible inner liner. The outer shell and inner liner are configured so that the water passing through the water treatment system engages the inner liner, and not the outer shell. The inner liner is blow molded from a material that does not leach undesirable substances into the water flowing through the water treatment systems. The inner liner may include a receptacle portion to house one or more water treatment components. The receptacle portion may be flexible under the anticipated range of internal pressures. The receptacle portion may be disposed in the outer shell with the outer shell concealing expansion/contraction of the inner liner and providing the pressure vessel dimensional stability. The inner liner may include a rigid neck portion mounted to the outer shell. The outer shell and/or inner liner may include internal ribs configured to maintain spacing therebetween.

摘要: Provided is an integral 3D graphene-carbon hybrid foam composed of multiple pores and pore walls, wherein the pore walls contain single-layer or few-layer graphene sheets chemically bonded by a carbon material having a carbon material-to-graphene weight ratio from 1/100 to 1/2, wherein the few-layer graphene sheets have 2-10 layers of stacked graphene planes having an inter-plane spacing d002 from 0.3354 nm to 0.40 nm and the graphene sheets contain a pristine graphene material having essentially zero % of non-carbon elements, or a non-pristine graphene material having 0.01% to 25% by weight of non-carbon elements wherein said non-pristine graphene is selected from graphene oxide, reduced graphene oxide, graphene fluoride, graphene chloride, graphene bromide, graphene iodide, hydrogenated graphene, nitrogenated graphene, doped graphene, chemically functionalized graphene, or a combination thereof. Also provided are a process for producing the hybrid form, products containing the hybrid foam, and its applications.

摘要: Wastesolution treatment systems and methods are provided which may remove particulates and hydrocarbons from wastesolution. Embodiments may be used to treat scrubber wastesolution from exhaust gas cleaning (“EGC”) systems. Some embodiments may be used with terrestrial EGC systems and others may be used for maritime ship EGC systems. Certain embodiments remove free phase oil and particulates from the wastesolution. Some embodiments may utilize a biogenerator cultured with hydrocarbon degrading microorganisms to reduce the concentration of oils in the water. Certain embodiments may utilize a clarifier and filtration unit to remove contaminants in the water. The wastesolution may be recirculated through the system until the measured contaminant concentration drops below a threshold value. The treated wastesolution may be stored, reused, or may be safely discharged from the system.

摘要: A water salinity control apparatus for a marine aquarium includes a filter section in which the water from a utility water supply is purified and deionized. A reservoir section includes a purified water reservoir for purified water, a salt-mixed water reservoir in which marine water at the setpoint salinity is stored, and a salt concentrate reservoir which contains fully salt-saturated water. A pump section includes pumps for pumping water from the salt-mixed water reservoir into the aquarium and for pumping water from the purified water reservoir to the aquarium. A control system adjusts the salinity of the water in the salt-mixed water reservoir and the salinity of the water in the marine aquarium. The control system receives input from salinity measuring probes that measure the salinity in the salt-mixed water reservoir and the salinity of the water of the marine aquarium.

摘要: The improved water purification system includes a water purification unit having a tap water inflow port for receiving a tap water inflow from a water supply system to produce relatively purified water and a brine water outflow having impurities concentrated therein. An RO filter having an RO membrane separates relatively unfiltered water flow into purified water and the brine water outflow. A flush flow activation chamber fluidly coupled to the brine water outflow includes a plunger for substantially occluding brine water outflow through the brine outflow port when seated, and substantially permits brine water outflow to exit the purification unit through the brine outflow port when unseated. Accordingly, the activation chamber generates back pressure within the water purification system to flash flow tap water inflow into the purification unit and through the RO membrane when the plunger moves from being seated to unseated, thereby substantially refreshing said RO membrane.
