Abstract: The various technologies presented herein relate to fabrication and operation of a heat exchanger that is configured to extract heat from an underlying substrate. Heat can be extracted by way of an air gap formed between an impeller and a baseplate. By utilizing a pump to create an initial air gap that is further maintained by rotation of the impeller relative to the baseplate, a spring can be utilized that can apply a force of greater magnitude to the impeller than is used in a conventional approach, thus enabling the weight of the impeller to be negligible with respect to a width of the air gap, thereby conferring the desirable feature of orientation independence with respect to gravity with no performance degradation.

The bearing mechanism includes a first bearing above the rotor fan in the housing and facing the rotor fan in an up and down direction. The housing includes a first opening, a second opening, and a bearing holding portion. A cylindrical wind tunnel portion is outward of the rotor fan in a radial direction. An inner surface of the wind tunnel portion and the rotor fan face each other in the radial direction. An upper end portion of the inner surface of the wind tunnel portion and an outer surface of the bearing holding portion face each other in the radial direction.

Abstract: The invention in part, is a heat removal system or apparatus providing a method of mounting and electrically connecting heat dissipating electrical devices, preferably in a radial geometry while achieving good surface-to-surface clamping force, in liquid and or air cooled variants. A variation of the invention can provide arc safety for high power density applications. In specific embodiments, the invention also provides low inductance as a result of minimal loop area while also providing high voltage isolation between devices. The N-sided geometry and effective clamping methodology offer low mass and volume. A variation of the invention also provides a signal interface for driving power electronics devices. A unique cylindrical electrical device package with terminals can support capacitor, inductor and transformer integration in a common package. The various elements of the invention can be combined together to minimize size and weight, while addressing high voltage, noise and thermal management.

Abstract: A power tool includes a brushless DC motor having a stator and a rotor pivotably arranged inside the stator, the stator including a first winding, a second winding, and a third winding. Each winding is arranged at at least two opposite poles connected together. The stator windings may be connected in a delta configuration by electrically coupling adjacent terminals of the first and second windings, second and third windings, and third and first windings at three connection points. A baffle may be provided in parallel and adjacent to the stator, the baffle including at least one conductive routing or stamping to facilitate electrically coupling the first, second, and third windings in at least one of a delta or a wye configuration.
