    摘要: A method for continuously manufacturing a composite sandwich structure by pultrusion through a pultrusion die comprises arranging fiber reinforcement materials on the surface of a preformed foam core, applying liquid resin to the reinforcement materials on the surface of the foam core, heating the surface region of the foam core to a temperature of at least 100.degree. C. to convert water in the foam core to steam, thereby causing water vapor pressure expansion of the foam, and using the expansion of the foam core to subject the liquid resin to increased pressure.

    摘要: The invention is a method for forming a solid polymer electrolyte structure comprising:(a.) forming a mixture of a binder and a plurality of catalytically active, electrically conductive particles;(b.) forming the mixture into a particle containing film;(c.) contacting the film with a fluorocarbon membrane in its thermoplastic form;(d.) contacting the particle-containing film with an electrically conductive, hydraulically permeable matrix, thereby forming a laminate having a membrane on one side, a matrix on another side and a plurality of catalytically active particles therebetween; and(e.) applying sufficient pressure to the laminate to embed at least a portion of the matrix into the membrane.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a process for adhering coatings directly to semicrystalline polymer films. The surface of the film is first rendered quasi-amorphous. The quasi-amorphous surface is then either (a) washed with a solvent for amorphous polyester and then coated or (b) coated and heated to a temperature to recrystallize the surface of the polymer. These treatments improve both the consistency and strength of the bond between the coating and the polymer surface.

    摘要: The invention is primarily concerned with a sandwich material (55) made of sheets based on paper. This material is substantially comprised of a sheet (42) of corrugated paper (44) forming one or several layers. An intermediate paper sheet (31) is bonded to the corrugations of the sheet 42. A film (29) of a thermoplastic compound adheres physically as the result of an extrusion to the outer side of the intermediate paper sheet (31).The process for manufacturing this material consists firstly in extruding a film (29) of thermoplastic compound on the intermediate paper sheet (31), and then in bonding the web (27) of protective layer thus obtained on the corrugations of the sheet of corrugated paper (42).The invention is remarkable in that these operations are carried out on a standard machine for manufacturing corrugated paperboard. However, on the one hand an adhesive setting instantly at room temperature is used, and on the other hand the various heating elements used to bring about the setting of adhesives polymerizing through an endothermic reaction are kept switched off.The invention is particularly useful for making furniture or wall panels.
