    摘要: An aerosol tip mechanism for an aerosol-type dispenser for dispensing liquid content has a flexible outer shell, a rigid cap portion composed of lower and upper portions, and a rigid nozzle portion having a rigid shaft received within the outlet portion of the flexible outer shell. The rigid shaft interfaces the outlet portion of the outer shell, forming a first normally-closed one-way valve. The lower and upper portions of the rigid cap portion form boots adapted to receive an outlet portion of the flexible outer shell, the boots thereby constraining a lateral motion of the outlet portion of the outer shell, and symmetrically centering the outlet portion around the rigid shaft of the nozzle. The rigid nozzle portion includes a plurality of liquid channels for delivering liquid from a reservoir to a swirling chamber defined within the rigid cap portion, which liquid channels are configured to minimize energy losses of the liquid and promote a more homogeneous fluid particle size in the dispensed aerosol. The aerosol tip mechanism provides for long-term sterility of the stored fluid, which in turn allows for preservation of the sterility of non-chemically preserved formulations, which may be in the form of suspension or liquid gels.

The one-way valve mechanism in the nozzle area ensures a one-way movement of medicament from the dispenser, thereby preserving substantially perfect sterility of the medicament in the dispenser, without requiring the use of preservatives. The one-way actuation mechanism enables the user to load and dispense a uniform quantity of medicament with a uniform actuation force and speed via a single continuous motion of the actuation mechanism. The rigid vial/expandable-pouch combination facilitates improved long term use, as well as uniformity of dosage independent of the pump orientation.

    摘要: An automated process for filling a sealed receptacle (1) with a fluid under aseptic conditions is disclosed. The sealed receptacle has at least one part (2B) made of a material capable of being pierced by a hollow needle (8R) and sufficiently flexible to close itself up again after removal of the hollow needle. In the automated process, the part (2B) of the sealed receptacle is pierced using a hollow filling needle (8R) which is in contact with the fluid to be channeled into the receptacle (1). During the process of filling the receptacle (1), the perforating end of the hollow filling needle (8R) is maintained under aseptic conditions by means of laminar gas flow.

    摘要: An apparatus for applying medicament to an eye has an inner casing and an outer casing coupled to the inner casing and moveable relative thereto. An eyecup is supported on one end of the inner casing. The eyecup defines a surface shaped to conformably engage the facial tissue surrounding an eye. An ocular vial is supported within the inner casing. The ocular vial holds medicament for release into an eye. An eyelid displacing member is coupled to the outer casing and slideably mounted through the inner casing. The eyelid displacing member includes a depresser tab adapted to engage the facial tissue below an eye. The depresser tab engages the facial tissue upon moving the outer casing toward the inner casing, thus displacing the lower eyelid to expose the ocular cul-de-sac. A dispensing member is supported by the outer casing. The dispensing member is adapted to actuated the ocular vial upon moving the outer casing toward the inner casing, to release medicament onto the exposed ocular cul-de-sac of the eye.

    摘要: An ocular treatment apparatus for applying medicament into an eye has an inner housing member with an eyepiece on a free end thereof. The eyepiece defines an opening in one end thereof, and the opening has a peripheral edge shaped for engagement with the facial tissue surrounding an eye. A body portion of the inner housing member is coupled to the eyepiece and is dimensioned to receive a vial of medicament for application to the eye. An outer housing member of the apparatus has an open free end, which is slidably engaged over the inner housing member. The outer housing member has a displacement rod that projects inwardly from a closed end thereof in the axial direction of the apparatus. The displacement rod is engageable with a flexible vial supported within the body portion of the inner housing member. The displacement rod flexes the vial inwardly to dispense medicament therefrom into an eye. A flexible bar is mounted to the outer housing member, and the free end of the flexible bar is adapted to be engaged with the facial tissue below an eye to displace the facial tissue, and thus displace the lower eyelid, to direct the medicament into the exposed ocular cul-de-sac of the eye. The flexible member is engaged with the facial tissue by moving the outer housing member toward the eyepiece, which simultaneously displaces the lower eyelid and allows the medicament dispensed from the vial to fall into the exposed ocular cul-de-sac of the eye.
