    摘要: A polycrystal silicon rod characterized in that it has a half value width of a peak indicative of crystal orientation (111) of an X-ray diffraction pattern, of 0.3.degree. or less, an internal strain rate in a radial direction of less than 5.0.times.10.sup.-5 cm.sup.-1 and an internal iron concentration of 0.5 ppba or less. The above polycrystal silicon rod having high crystallinity, high purity and low internal strain is produced by heating a core material in a gaseous atmosphere comprising trichlorosilane and hydrogen to deposit silicon on the silicon core material to produce a polycrystal silicon rod, and subjecting the polycrystal silicon rod to a heat treatment without allowing it to contact with the air, to remove strain contained therein.

    摘要: Engine valve driving apparatus including a camshaft rotatable with a crankshaft of the engine with a movable cam member supported in sliding fit by the camshaft for axial movement but prevented from any rotation relative to the camshaft. An engine valve is driven by the movable cam member, and a hydraulic system axially shifts the movable cam member between an operative position where the movable cam member is brought into cooperation with the engine valve and an inoperative position where the movable cam member is completely out of cooperation with the engine valve. The hydraulic system causes the shifting movement of the movable cam member according to engine operating conditions so that the engine valve is driven at different speeds or different timings.

    摘要: An automotive driving control system comprises a stepless transmission provided between the engine and the driving wheels, a transmission controller for controlling the transmission ratio of the stepless transmission, a throttle valve driver for driving the throttle valve of the engine, an operating state detector for detecting a particular operating state of the engine such as "knock" or resonance with the vehicle body, and a controller for controlling the transmission controller and the throttle valve driver. The controller controls the transmission controller and the throttle valve driver to respectively control the transmission ratio of the stepless transmission and the opening degree of the throttle valve so as to obtain that engine output which corresponds to the amount of depression of the acceleration pedal. When the particular operating state of the engine occurs, the controller controls the transmission controller and the throttle valve driver to respectively control the transmission ratio and the opening degree of the throttle valve so that the engine speed is changed without changing the engine output corresponding to the amount of depression of the accelerator pedal.

    摘要: A dual induction type intake system for an internal combustion engine has a primary intake passageway for light load operation of the engine and a secondary intake passageway for heavy load operation of the engine. The downstream side open end of each intake passageway opens toward the intake port of the cylinder of the engine. The secondary intake passageway is provided with a controllable valve therein. The load on the engine is detected and the controllable valve is opened when the load on the engine is heavier than a predetermined value so that the intake gas is introduced into the combustion chamber through both the primary and secondary intake passageways, while otherwise the controllable valve is closed so that the intake gas is introduced into the combustion chamber only through the primary intake passageway. The primary intake passageway has a flat cross sectional configuration with its longer axis extending substantially in parallel to the lower end surface of the cylinder head, and at the same time the primary intake passageway is throated by narrowing its width, as measured in the horizontal direction, from upstream toward downstream in the direction of the flow of the intake gas. The downstream side open end of the primary intake passageway is offset from the center of the cylinder bore.

    摘要: Disclosed is a bottle for a carbonated drink, which is formed by biaxial draw-blow molding of a polyester containing a surface active agent and being composed mainly of ethylene terephthalate units, wherein at least the barrel wall portion of the bottle is molecularly oriented biaxially so that the density is at least 1.34 g/cm.sup.3 as measured at 20.degree. C., and the surface active agent is distributed in the surface of the barrel wall portion so that the contact angle of the surface of the barrel wall portion to water is not larger than 76.degree..In this bottle, the speed of transfer of carbon dioxide gas from the liquid phase of the drink to the gas phase at the time of opening the bottle is controlled to a very low level. Accordingly, occurrence of the cap missile phenomenon at the time of removing the cap from the bottle or reduction of the carbon dioxide content in the drink at the time of repeating sealing and opening of the bottle can effectively be prevented.
