The compounds are synthesized by subjecting in one step a benzyl alcohol optionally having on the benzene ring and/or the .alpha.-position one or more substituent groups to reaction with a corresponding tertiary amine and an organic sulfonic acid chloride.

    摘要: A method for producing spiro-orthocarbonate compounds is disclosed. The method comprises reacting a cyclic carbonate compound of the following formula with an epoxy compound containing an epoxy group: ##STR1## wherein R is an alkylene group or a substituted alkylene group. The disclosed method makes it easy to commercially produce spiro-orthocarbonate compounds in a one stage reaction. The starting materials can be easily handled without any hygienic difficulties and the method can be carried out without entailing any operational difficulties.
