Abstract:
A system for communicating information facilitates wireless communication between electronic devices. The system includes a transceiver provided in a vehicle. The transceiver communicates with an electronic device located external to the transceiver.
Abstract:
The control circuit 11 causes display of messages received through the communication unit 1 in the display unit 14 in list form. A cursor for making selections from the messages displayed in list form has different patterns. The control circuit 11 associates the cursor patterns with message types. In another embodiment, the control circuit 11 groups received messages into new messages not yet reproduced by a user and old messages already reproduced, causes display of the number of the new messages in a predetermined area of the display unit when the new messages are stored in RAM 13, and display of the number of the old messages in said predetermined area when the new messages are not stored in RAM 13.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method are provided for determining the donned or doffed state of a headset. In one example, a headset includes a processor, an acoustic transducer, and a detector operably coupled to the processor, the detector providing an output charge pattern corresponding to a state selected from the group consisting of the headset being donned and doffed. Advantageously, the present disclosure provides for reliably determining a donned or doffed state of a headset for efficiently routing calls, text messages, and/or otherwise being used for notifications and requests in a system.

Abstract:
A method and a voice-operated arrangement for interacting with a dual-tone multifrequency (DTMF)-controlled system. A record, including representations of DTMF tones and associated with communicating with a remote DTMF-controlled system, is accessed. A communication link between a user voice-communication device and the remote DTMF-controlled system is established through a speech-to-DTMF tone application. A user voice command is translated, using the record, into at least one DTMF tone for interacting with the remote DTMF-controlled system.
Abstract:
We have disclosed a data transfer system that includes athletic equipment and at least two individual network components. A first individual network component is engaged with athletic equipment and is configured to transmit data to a remote component. A second individual network component is configured to receive data from a remote component. A second individual network component includes at least one of a display device and an audio output device. Data transmitted may include user identity and performance data and route data.
Abstract:
We have disclosed systems and methods for monitoring an individual's athletic performance. Methods may include determining performance parameter data during an athletic activity, determining position parameter data by a global positioning satellite receiver during an athletic activity, correlating the data with a characteristic of a route traversed by an individual during the activity, and generating a graphical display of representation of the route based on the data.
Abstract:
A mobile communication terminal is provided including an audio processing unit, a speaker, a connecting unit that connects to an external audio output device and indicates whether the external audio output device is connected, and a control unit configured to, while in a silent mode, control the audio processing unit to reproduce a music file and to output audio signals, corresponding to the reproduced music file, through the speaker, the silent mode being a mode wherein a vibration signal is generated upon receiving an incoming call, if the external audio output device is connected to the connecting unit, output the audio signals to the external audio output device, and if the external audio output device is disconnected from the connecting unit while the audio signals are being output to the external audio output device, control the display unit to display a user interface for continuing reproduction of the music file.
Abstract:
Disclosed are a short range wireless communication apparatus and a method for improving phone sound quality. The short range wireless communication apparatus a microphone to receive a phone voice to output an audio signal, an equalizer to compensate the audio signal output from the microphone for signal distortion according to a frequency response characteristic of a terminal, and a wireless communication unit to transmit the compensated audio signal to the terminal.
Abstract:
An audio subsystem in a mobile communication device has a speaker. In one implementation, the audio subsystem has a higher-gain power amplifier, a lower-gain power amplifier, and a switching system configured to route signals produced by the lower-gain power amplifier to the speaker while the device is operative in a first mode and configured to route signals produced by the higher-gain power amplifier to the speaker while the device is operative in a second mode. In another implementation, the audio subsystem has a power amplifier coupled to the speaker and a power supply control controlled to provide voltage at a first voltage level to the power amplifier while the device is operative in a first mode and controlled to provide voltage at a second, higher, voltage level to the power amplifier while the device is operative in a second mode.
