Abstract: A latex including: a nitrile rubber containing an α,β-ethylenically unsaturated nitrile monomer unit in a content of 8 to 50 wt % and an α,β-ethylenically unsaturated dicarboxylic acid monoester monomer unit in a content of 1 to 10 wt %, and having an iodine value of 120 g/100 g or less; and a benzisothiazoline-based compound represented by the following general formula (1), wherein the content of the benzisothiazoline-based compound is 50 ppm by weight or more, with respect to the nitrile rubber, and a redox potential of the latex is 80 to 800 mV. In the general formula (1) mentioned above, R1 represents a hydrogen atom, or a substituted or unsubstituted organic group, R2 each independently represents a hydrogen atom, or a substituted or unsubstituted organic group, and “n” represents an integer of 0 to 4.

Abstract: The present invention relates to [1] a water-based ink for ink-jet printing which can be prevented from suffering from increased viscosity and flocculation of the ink upon storage thereof even when used in the form of a system containing a large amount of a solvent, said water-based ink for ink-jet printing containing crosslinked polymer particles containing a pigment having an indanthrone skeleton, an organic solvent and water, in which a crosslinking rate of the crosslinked polymer is not less than 10 mol % and not more than 90 mol %, and a content of the organic solvent in the water-based ink is not less than 30% by mass and not more than 65% by mass, and [2] an ink-jet printing method including the steps of loading the water-based ink as described in the above [1] to an ink-jet printing apparatus, and ejecting the water-based ink in the form of droplets of the ink onto a printing medium to form characters or images on the printing medium.

Abstract: A medical device including an internal wetting agent and a copolymer of a silicone monomer and satisfying the following conditions: (1) that the internal wetting agent contains a copolymer of an open-chain compound having an acidic group and an open-chain compound having an amide group; (2) that the internal wetting agent is contained in the range of from 0.1 to 10% by mass with respect to the whole medical device; and (3) that the copolymer of a silicone monomer has a hydroxyl group and that the content ratio of the hydroxyl group in the silicone monomer is in the range of from 0.0005 to 0.01 equivalents/g. A medical device containing an internal wetting agent and having excellent transparency and hydrophilicity can be obtained.

Abstract: An aqueous polymer dispersion is composed of (i) an emulsion polymer having a weight average molecular weight of from 2,000 to 30,000 daltons, wherein the emulsion polymer comprises as polymerized units, based on the dry weight of the emulsion polymer, (a) from 10% to 90% by weight of an ethylenically unsaturated ionic monomer, (b) from 5% to 90% by weight of a photosensitive monomer, and (c) from 0 to 85% by weight of an ethylenically unsaturated nonionic monomer; and (ii) from 3.5% to 50% by weight of TEMPO and/or a derivative thereof, based on the total dry weight of the aqueous polymer dispersion. An aqueous coating composition comprising the aqueous polymer dispersion and a binder provides coatings with improved durability.

Abstract: The present invention recognizes that medical devices, such as but not limited to contact lenses, can be made having a coating made at least in part using printing technologies to provide drug storage and drug release structures. The coating preferably includes at least one drug reservoir layer and a least one barrier layer, and can include structures, such as but not limited to capillary structures that alone or in combination modulate the release of the drug from the coating. One aspect of the present invention is a medical device that incorporates a drug in at least one coating. A second aspect of the present invention is a method of making a medical device that incorporates a drug in at least one coating. A third aspect of the present invention is a method of using a medical device of the present invention to treat, prevent from having, prevent from developing, control, reduce the severity, or reduce the progression of a disease, disorder or condition of a subject.

The chemically recycled polyester resin is formed by a plurality of chemically recycled polyester chips and mixed with the physically recycled polyester resin. The plurality of chemically recycled polyester chips further include chemically recycled electrostatic pinning polyester chips. The chemically recycled electrostatic pinning polyester chips contain electrostatic pinning additives, and the electrostatic pinning additives are metal salts. Expressed in percent by weight based on a total weight of the polyester film, a content of the electrostatic pinning additives in the polyester film is between 0.005% and 0.1% by weight. The black polyester film further includes a black additive.-

Abstract: A cosmetic ink composition comprises a particulate material, a polymeric dispersant, a rheology modifier, and a surface tension modifier, wherein the surface tension modifier is selected from the group consisting of C1-C16 alcohols, C5-C18 diols, and mixtures thereof. The particulate material can have a Particle Size Distribution D50 of about 100 nm to about 2,000 nm. The rheology modifier can be selected from the group consisting of alkali swellable emulsion polymers, hydrophobically modified alkali swellable emulsion polymers, and combinations thereof. The cosmetic ink composition can have a surface tension of from about 20 to about 45 mN/m.
