摘要: Bioresorbable stents for treating airway disorders and methods of treatment of the airway disorders using the bioresorbable stents are disclosed. Once implanted, the stents stabilize or maintain an airway lumen. The radial strength of the stents decreases with time which allows the airway to adjust from being artificially supported to a healed state without artificial support. The stent may be removed from the airway through bioresorption without intervention. The bioresorbable stents include a bioresorbable body having a shape that conforms or is conformable to the shape of the of airway lumen.

摘要: A catheter configured for performing reperfusion by alternatively occluding a vessel so as to prevent fluid flow and removing that occlusion to allow fluid flow is described. A first catheter includes an outer member and a retractable valve to allow and prevent fluid flow in the vessel. A second catheter includes a sheathed expansion member that can be deployed and recaptured to prevent and allow, respectively, fluid flow. A third catheter includes an angioplasty balloon to open a vessel occlusion, in which an occlusion balloon is used to allow and disallow fluid flow. A fourth catheter includes an expandable member for providing mechanical plunging action to urge thrombotic material to a more distal location. A fifth catheter includes an accessory catheter that can be used to perform reperfusion with another catheter. A sixth catheter includes an inner balloon within an outer balloon configured to perform reperfusion.

摘要: Balloon catheter includes an outer shaft including a hypotube and a monolithic multilayer distal outer member and having an inflation lumen defined therethrough, a balloon in fluid communication with the inflation lumen, and an inner tubular member having a guidewire lumen defined therethrough. The monolithic multilayer distal outer member has a proximal end portion and a distal end portion. The monolithic multilayer distal outer member has an inner layer comprising a first polymer having a tensile strength greater than about 8,000 psi and an outer layer comprising a second polymer having a flexural modulus of less than about 130,000 psi at room temperature. A proximal end of the monolithic multilayer distal outer member is coupled to the hypotube. The monolithic multilayer distal outer member is necked to a reduced diameter along at least a portion of a length thereof. The balloon has a proximal balloon shaft coupled to a distal end of the monolithic multilayer distal outer member. The inner tubular member extends distally from a proximal port in the proximal end portion of the monolithic multilayer distal outer member through at least a portion of the balloon.

摘要: An anchor assembly configured to locate and anchor body tissue surrounding an opening in the body tissue. The anchor assembly can include a plurality of anchor elements. Each anchor element can include an elongate portion and an anchor portion extending from the elongate portion. The elongate portion can be configured to be manipulated by a user. The anchor portion can have a contracted configuration capable of passing through the opening in the body tissue and can have an expanded configuration capable of anchoring the body tissue surrounding the opening. The anchor portion and the elongate portion can be integrally formed from a single wire.

摘要: Elongate, flexible catheter includes a shaft having a proximal end, a distal end, and a lumen extending therein. The shaft has an inner layer comprising an amorphous polyamide having a Shore D durometer value of greater than 78, and an outer layer comprising a semi-crystalline polyamide or copolyamide having a Shore D durometer value of less than 76. The outer layer is thinner than the inner layer. The shaft has an increased resistance to kinking as compared to a similar shaft of a single layer of the amorphous polyamide having a Shore D durometer value of greater than 78.
