摘要: A method and apparatus for removing excess coating material from a honeycomb body of a catalytic converter. The coated honeycomb body is mounted on an eccentric tappet and is rotated around a first rotational axis with a first rotational frequency such that the distance from the center of gravity of the honeycomb body to the first rotational axis is at least 1.5 times the length of the honeycomb body. The honeycomb body is further rotated around a second rotational axis even out the coating material and provide a more uniform coating surface.

摘要: A catalytic converter with electric heating includes a housing and at least one honeycomb body being disposed in the housing for conducting a flow of exhaust gas of an internal combustion engine through the honeycomb body in a given flow direction. The honeycomb body is electrically conductive at least in partial regions upon being heated by an electric current and it has a catalytically active coating at least in partial regions. The honeycomb body has at least two electrically heatable partial regions being disposed in succession as seen in the given flow direction. The electrically heatable partial regions have a different axial length and/or a different electrical resistance. The honeycomb body also has at least one other partial region being at least substantially blocked to the electric current and separating the electrically heatable partial regions from one another.

摘要: A method for assembling an assembled shaft from a tubular or bar-shaped base member (R) and individual slid-on elements (N), especially a camshaft, with the elements being for example cams, gears or bearing bushes. In the method, the elements (N) are slid on to the base member (R) and are held in the required angular position to be fixed on the base member by magnetic forces. An apparatus for carrying out this method comprises a guiding device (13) for guiding the elements into their axial positions and magnetic holding means (5) operable to hold the elements in the required angular position.

摘要: An exhaust gas system for an internal combustion engine includes an intake system and an exhaust outlet interconnected by an exhaust gas recirculation line having an exhaust treatment unit and a heat exchanger. The heat exchanger has a first back pressure and the exhaust treatment unit has a second back pressure, smaller than the first back pressure. The exhaust treatment unit is disposed at such a first distance from the heat exchanger in flow direction that, during operation, a gas flow entering the exhaust treatment unit is homogenized. The exhaust gas system permits an advantageous configuration of a heat exchanger and an exhaust treatment unit, such as for example a honeycomb body in the exhaust gas recirculation line, in which both the heat exchanger and the exhaust treatment unit can have a smaller structure than in conventional systems. This reduces costs considerably for equipping such a system.

摘要: An exhaust gas system for an internal combustion engine includes a first exhaust treatment unit with a first back pressure and a second exhaust treatment unit with a second back pressure being higher than the first back pressure. The system advantageously enables the configuration of systems having two exhaust treatment units that are disposed one behind the other in flow direction. The first and/or second exhaust treatment unit can have a smaller construction due to the homogenization of flow. This applies, for example, when an oxidation-type catalytic converter is provided as the first exhaust treatment unit and when a particulate filter is provided as the second exhaust treatment unit. The homogenization of flow in the first exhaust treatment unit increases the conversion rate so that the first and/or second exhaust treatment unit can be provided with a smaller construction. This saves considerable costs when configuring such systems.
