摘要: A control system is disclosed for automatically detecting moisture on the windshield of a vehicle. The automatic moisture detecting system includes an optical system for imaging a portion of the windshield onto an image array sensor, such as a CMOS active pixel sensor. The voltage of each of the pixels which represents the illumination level is converted to a corresponding gray scale value by an analog digital converter. The spatial frequency composition of the gray scale values are analyzed to determine the amount of rain present in order to provide a control signal to control the operation of the windshield wipers of the vehicle as a function of the amount of moisture present. The system is also adapted to detect the level of fog both on the interior of the windshield as well as the exterior of the windshield.

摘要: A connector is provided for joining two upstream exhaust pipes with a downstream exhaust pipe and for substantially offsetting any difference in length that may exist in the upstream exhaust pipes. The connector includes first and second external shells that are secured on opposite respective sides of an internal divider plate. The external shells and internal plates cooperate to define unequal travel lengths within the connector to offset the unequal travel lengths of the upstream exhaust pipes leading to the connector. The two separate exhaust flows with travel lengths equalized by the connector converge with one another into a chamber defined by the connector, and exit from the connector through an outlet. Expansion of the converging exhaust gas streams into the chamber contributes to acoustical tuning of the exhaust system. The equal lengths of the respective exhaust gas streams also facilitates acoustical tuning performed by a downstream muffler.

摘要: Provided are devices and methods for providing front-of screen uniformity. Methods include estimating a filter function corresponding to the display and selecting multiple light emitters as a function of characteristics corresponding to light transmitted from the display as determined via the filter function. Devices are provided that include multiple light emitters including a first chromaticity difference corresponding to the multiple light emitters and a second chromaticity difference corresponding to the multiple light emitters and a filter function, wherein the second chromaticity difference is less than the first chromaticity difference.

摘要: A liquid crystal display (LCD) device includes a pixel array including a plurality of pixels configured to display an image. The plurality of pixels respectively include a first subpixel configured to display first color image data, and a second subpixel configured to display second and third color image data. The LCD device may further include a backlight configured to emit the first, second, and/or third colors of light, and a backlight controller. The backlight controller may be configured to activate the backlight to emit the first and second colors of light at a same time to generate a first image component including a combination of the first color image data and the second color image data, and to separately emit the third color of light at a different time than the first and second colors of light to generate a second image component including the third color image data. The pixel array may be configured to display the first and second image components to provide a single image frame. Related devices and methods of operation are also discussed.
