摘要: An article of clothing with one or more padding structures and a method for making the same is disclosed. The one or more padding structures comprise free micro-beads that are encapsulated within one or more corresponding pouches. The padding structures are either permanently fitted with or secured to the clothing body of the article of clothing or are configured to detectably couple to the clothing body of the article of clothing. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, a bra comprises cups that are padded or partially padded with padding structures comprising encapsulated free micro-beads.

摘要: A chest pad that significantly reduces the occurrence of commotio cordis among athletes is disclosed. The chest pad may be utilized as a stand-alone chest protector intended to provide coverage primarily for the upper chest wall and the cardiac area. The chest pad may also be implanted into or utilized in traditional chest protectors that provide full coverage of the user's torso. The chest pad provides additional protection to the heart of the wearer such that impact in the heart area with a projectile is absorbed by the chest pad.

In some embodiments, the garment can be an undergarment and the high friction textile regions can reduce shifting of an outer garment in contact with the undergarment.

摘要: A body impact protection system includes an inner layer and an impact force dampening and defusing structure. The inner layer includes a material composition and is adjacent to a body part when the body impact protection system is worn. The impact force dampening and defusing structure is juxtaposed to the inner layer and includes a plurality of components. The components function to reduce pressure on the body part from an impact force on a layer by layer basis. Each layer of the system dampens and defuses the impact force such that, by the time it reaches the body part, it has been substantially attenuated and spread over a large area.

摘要: The present invention relates to a protective material which is used in a wearable article to enhance thermal regulation of the user, provide protection to the user by means of pressure and energy absorption, and acts as a platform for technologies (such as sensors) that increase performance and function when worn by the user. The protective, thermoregulatory impact resistant material includes a mesh material which has layers of woven yarn connected together between layers, and having an overall pattern. The mesh material is knitted as a layered three-dimensional fabric, where the layers are interconnected by spacer yarn. The mesh material provides both evaporative cooling, and acts as an insulating barrier, and its properties can be controlled by an openness, thickness, or tightness of the weave of the yarn, or a distance between the layers. The mesh material can be worn under protective clothing and equipment.
