摘要: Hydrogels, bioplastics, and techniques for generating the same are described herein. An example method includes generating a resin including a globular protein, a co-monomer, water, and a photoinitiator. A hydrogel is generated by exposing the resin to light, thereby polymerizing the globular protein and the co-monomer. Further, the example method includes dehydrating the hydrogel by removing at least a portion of the water; and rehydrating the hydrogel in the presence of a hydrogen bonding agent.

摘要: The present application relates to implantable therapeutic delivery system, its method of making and use. The therapeutic delivery system includes a nanofiber core substrate having proximal and distal ends, and an interior nanofiber wall defining an internal space extending longitudinally along the core substrate, with one or more therapeutic agents positioned within the internal space. A hydrogel surrounds the nanofiber core substrate, where the hydrogel includes 0.1% to 20% of an alginate mixture. The alginate mixture includes zwitterionically modified alginate and pure alginate in a ratio of 1:1000 to 1000:1 (v/v). Also disclosed is a thermo sealing device useful for the formation of the implantable therapeutic delivery system.

摘要: The present invention provides a deformable body (2), wherein the deformable body comprises a force application surface (12) opposite a bone contact surface (52) to be pressed against periosteum of a bone surface (52) of a bone such that the bone contact surface adapts its shape to the shape of the bone surface, wherein the deformable body comprises one or more through-going openings (3) and/or one or more fixation locations (34) arranged to receive a fixation element such as as screw (20), and wherein the deformable body comprises an anaesthetic that is released from or through the bone contact surface. The anaesthetic can be bupivicaine, liposome bupivacaine, lidocaine or levobupivacaine. The anaestethic can be arranged in one or more compartments (6, 7) which have ifferent release rates. The screw can comprise a detent or rim to mate with the deformable body. A sleeve (80) can be arranged in the opening (3) to receive the screw. A pusher element (81) can push the deformable body from the sleeve into position on the screw.
