摘要: A hemostatic material, a preparation method thereof, and a pharmaceutical composition containing the same are introduced. The hemostatic material includes 200 to 1600 parts by weight of water-insoluble gelatin and 100 to 1000 parts by weight of hydrating material. The preparation method for the hemostatic material includes the steps of (a) providing 200 to 1600 parts by weight of water-insoluble gelatin and 100 to 1000 parts by weight of hydrating material; and (b) combining the water-insoluble gelatin with the hydrating material to form a hemostatic material. The pharmaceutical composition includes an aforementioned hemostatic material and active pharmaceutical ingredients. Through the aforementioned hemostatic material, hemostatic products can increase the blood absorption capacity.

摘要: The present invention provides tissue sealant compositions and vasculature closure devices useful for the optical detection of tissue seal and/or clot formation. Compositions and devices of the present invention comprise optical dyes which undergo an observable change as the compositions and/or devices are incorporated into a tissue seal and/or clot, for example a change in fluorescence quantum yield and/or a change in visual color including a change in emission and/or absorption wavelength. Tissue sealants and vasculature closure devices of the present invention are useful for visualizing seal and/or clot formation, for example, during or after surgical procedures, after catheter removal, etc. The present invention further provides methods for formation and optical detection of tissue seals or vasculature puncture closures as well as medical kits useful for the formation and optical detection of tissue seals or vasculature puncture closures.

摘要: The present invention provides polypeptides comprising or consisting of an amino acid sequence derived from collagen type VI or a fragment, variant, fusion or derivative thereof, or a fusion of said fragment, variant of derivative thereof, wherein the polypeptide, fragment, variant, fusion or derivative is capable of killing or attenuating the growth of microorganisms. Related aspects of the invention provide corresponding isolated nucleic acid molecules, vectors and host cells for making the same. Additionally provided are pharmaceutical compositions comprising a polypeptide of the invention, as well as methods of use of the same in the treatment and/or prevention of microbial infections and in wound care. Also provided are a method of killing microorganisms in vitro and a medical device associated with the pharmaceutical composition.

摘要: Compositions and methods of transplanting cells by grafting strategies into solid organs (especially internal organs) are provided. These methods and compositions can be used to repair diseased organs or to establish models of disease states in experimental hosts. The method involves attachment onto the surface of a tissue or organ, a patch graft, a “bandaid-like” covering, containing epithelial cells with supporting early lineage stage mesenchymal cells. The cells are incorporated into soft gel-forming biomaterials prepared under serum-free, defined conditions comprised of nutrients, lipids, vitamins, and regulatory signals that collectively support stemness of the donor cells. The graft is covered with a biodegradable, biocompatible, bioresorbable backing used to affix the graft to the target site. The cells in the graft migrate into and throughout the tissue such that within a couple of weeks they are uniformly dispersed within the recipient (host) tissue. The mechanisms by which engraftment and integration of donor cells into the organ or tissue involve multiple membrane-associated and secreted forms of MMPs.

摘要: The present invention relates to a method of making a composition, the composition comprising a cross-linked polymer and water, comprising at least the following steps: a) providing a first mixture, comprising at least one polymer and an aqueous alkaline solution; b) generating a gel by cross-linking the at least one polymer with a cross-linking agent; c) neutralizing the generated gel by using a neutralization solution; d) optionally adding a second mixture, comprising a cross-linked and/or non-cross-linked polymer and water, to the neutralized gel obtained in step c); e) dialyzing the gel obtained in step d) or dialyzing the gel obtained in step c) and optionally subsequent addition of the second mixture, comprising a cross-linked and/or non-cross-linked polymer and water; and f) filling the dialyzed gel obtained in step e) into a container, wherein at least two or three or four or five or all of steps a) to f) are automated.

摘要: Provided are a method of preparing a cross-linked hyaluronic acid having an elasticity of about 50 to about 200 Pa and a viscosity of about 20 to about 100 Pa, including cross-linking hyaluronic acid with an epoxy-based cross-linking agent having at least two epoxy functional groups in an ethanol-containing aqueous alkaline; a method of preparing a cross-linked hyaluronic acid having an elasticity of about 400 to about 800 Pa and a viscosity of about 40 to about 100 Pa, including cross-linking the same cross-linked hyaluronic acid with the same epoxy-based cross-linking agent in an aqueous alkaline solution; and a combination of the cross-linked hyaluronic acids one having an elasticity of about 50 to about 200 Pa and a viscosity of about 20 to about 100 Pa and the other having an elasticity of about 400 to about 800 Pa and a viscosity of about 40 to about 100 Pa.
