    摘要: Systems and methods for improving the air quality of living spaces are provided. These systems and methods utilize improved filtration media and electronic control of the speed of the air handler to minimize the presence of contaminants in the air while optimizing the efficiency of the operation to the air handler. In one aspect, the speed of the air-handling device is controlled in response to the concentration of a contaminant in the living space. In another aspect, the speed of the air-handling device is controlled to optimize the filtration efficiency of the filtering medium. The systems and methods disclosed may be used in residential, commercial, and industrial settings, for example, in hotel rooms as well as for an entire home.

    摘要: A surface discharge type air cleaning device comprises an insulating dielectric body formed in the shape of a sheet, and a discharge electrode and a ground electrode formed at one surface of the insulating dielectric body, the discharge electrode and the ground electrode being disposed in parallel with each other while the discharge electrode and the ground electrode are spaced a predetermined distance from each other. The discharge electrode has a plurality of pointed ends protruding toward the ground electrode. Consequently, electrical charge accumulation is prevented and continuous discharge is possible, even when a DC power source is used. In addition, entirely uniform and stable discharge at the surface of the dielectric body is accomplished, and therefore, the generated number of hydroxyl radicals and negative ions is increased while the generated amount of ozone is decreased. Also, discharge safety is increased, and therefore, air cleaning efficiency is improved.

    摘要: A 4-in-1 photo-electronic air purifying and conditioning system, which utilizes alternating current suitable for use in all weather conditions has activated carbon filters used in the first stage to eliminate impurities, germs and bacteria in the air drawn into the system. The bacteria and germs which are capable of passing through the activated carbon filter are then eliminated by extreme-UV light emitted by extreme-UV light tubes. A negative ion generator is used to boost the level of anions in the air before being discharged. These two modes operate in the following manner: the first mode involves high-voltage cathodic output that is discharged via carbonized fibres. The ionized air is then expelled by a fan. The second mode eliminates bacteria, germs and mould from air as it passes extreme-UV light tubes by exposure to extreme-UV light emitted by these extreme-UV light tubes.

    摘要: An indoor air quality module includes an ultraviolet light source located between two titanium dioxide coated honeycombs. Photons of ultraviolet light are absorbed by the titanium dioxide coating to form reactive hydroxyl radicals that attack and oxidize contaminants in the to water, carbon dioxide, and other substances. An outer compartment is attached to an air duct and an HVAC unit, and a pivotally attached inner compartment supports the honeycombs and the ultraviolet light source. A first end of the inner compartment is pivotally attached to the outer component, and an opposing second end is removably attached to the outer compartment by fasteners. When servicing is required, the fasteners are removed to allow the inner compartment to pivot relative to the outer compartment to a vertical service position to allow access to the components in the inner compartment.

    摘要: A heat controlled ultraviolet light apparatus includes a source of ultraviolet light, a cover, and a heating or cooling element that heats/cools the space or gap between the ultraviolet light source and the cover. Methods are also provided for sanitizing heating and cooling coils of various devices such as an HVAC system, and cooling systems such as a refrigeration unit and an evaporative cooler.
