    摘要: A machine for cutting a sheet material incorporates a system for clamping the sheet material against an underlying support surface, which system employs linear arrays of clamp units, each unit including a separate clamping member having a head portion with a flat top surface and a peripheral element constructed to engage an edge portion of the sheet material. The clamping members are disposed in spaced relationship along marginal portions of the support surface, an actuator is proveded for effecting movement of the clamping members between release and clamp positions. Because of the construction of the clamping members, the top surfaces thereof will be substantially flush with the surface of the clamped material being cut, thus enabling a cutting head having an associated glide plate to pass thereover, in contact therewith, without substantial interference or impediment.

    摘要: An improved tank configuration includes a die employed to stamp a formed member. The formed member may be used as the bottom head for a portable liquid container, and is constructed so that all welding is eliminated in the corner portions of the container. A trim machine is employed to remove uneven edges from the formed part. The invention is particularly useful in constructing sloped bottom tanks of increased depth. By the present invention, a stamped configuration is provided in which a draw formed tank bottom is formed so as to allow complete and full drainage of the tank bottom. The bottom head is finish trimmed to exact dimensions so as to facilitate assembly to the shell of the tank.

A work piece hold down apparatus for use in combination with a work piece table and a saw blade having a reciprocating drive means is provided wherein a work piece hold down apparatus having a hold down foot which is generally planar with forwardly projecting spaced apart arms for engaging the work piece on each side of the blade, the foot planar portion being connected to a rod member on a second planar portion of the hold down apparatus with the rod member being affixed to the hold down apparatus offset from the generally planar foot portion and adjustably mounted by clamping means to a saw frame member behind and adjacent to the reciprocating saw blade.

The apparatus, which constitutes a strip blade edge sharpening machine, comprises a rotary cutting blade, a support structure to support the strip in upright attitude upon a minor face of the strip, and a mechanism to effect relative movement between the rotary cutting blade and the strip in a direction longitudinally of the strip such that the rotary cutting blade cuts through the strip between the opposite major faces of the strip, and at fixed angles to said major faces, at a location spaced by a predetermined constant distance from the strip's supported minor face.

    摘要: A device for producing perforations in a flexible rack. With mechanical drive systems a "rack" is a linear element used with a rotary element whereby linear and rotary motions are displaced. The flexible rack processed by this invention consists of a tape having a cross-sectional curvature. It is thin, rigidly straight, resilient and used for "interconverting" (mutually converting or equally displacing) linear and rotary motions. A method is taught for perforating a rack along its length. Perforations are produced whil the rack is bent radially and flattened laterally corresponding to a position with which the rack will be used when "interconverting linear and rotary motions."
