摘要: A porous body constituting a porous partition wall 44 of a honeycomb filter 30 has a porosity P of 20% to 60%, a permeability k of 1 μm2 or more and satisfies k≥0.2823 P−10.404. The porous body is obtained by a method for producing, for example, includes (a) a step of acquiring porous body data representing a temporary porous body having porosity higher than target porosity, (b) a step of deriving information about a flow rate for each space voxel during passage of a fluid through inside of the porous body, (c) a step of preferentially replacing the voxel having a low flow rate among the space voxels with the object voxel, and adjusting the porosity of the porous body data to the target porosity, and (d) a step of forming a porous body based on the porous body data after replacement.

摘要: Electrically insulating Al2O3—SiO2 thin coatings have been deposited on long-length 316 stainless steel (SS) tape using a reel-to-reel continuous sol-gel dip coating process for co-winding insulation into YBCO pancake coils, a high temperature superconductor magnet technology. Coatings with a thickness of ˜2 μm are achieved after just one dip with a tape withdrawal speed of ˜16 mm/s (1 m/min) and a calcination at 700° C. The coatings were measured to have a room-temperature breakdown voltage of about 100 V, corresponding to a dc dielectric strength of about 50 MV/m. Consequently, this process has low cost and high throughput and produces a thin electrical insulation with excellent thermal, dielectric, and mechanical properties. A new technique has been developed in the coating process to mitigate coating buildup near the edges of the tape.

摘要: A ceramic honeycomb body having a skin that does not block partial cells extending from an inlet face to an outlet face at an outer periphery portion of the body. A method of making the ceramic honeycomb body having the skin includes disposing a sheet on an outer peripheral wall of a honeycomb core having an outer surface spaced apart from interiors of the partial cells and skinning the body having the sheet disposed thereon. Subsequent curing in the method bonds the skin to cell walls of the body spaced apart from interiors of the partial cells.

摘要: There is provided a honeycomb structure where a crack at honeycomb segments, which constitute a honeycomb bonded assembly, is reduced. A honeycomb structure has a pillar-shaped honeycomb bonded assembly that has a plurality of pillar-shaped honeycomb segments having a porous partition wall defining a plurality of cells extending from an inflow end face as one end face to an outflow end face as another end face and becoming channels for a fluid, and a bonding layer bonding side surfaces of the plurality of honeycomb segments, and in the honeycomb bonded assembly, at 25 to 800° C., a thermal expansion coefficient of the bonding layer is larger than a thermal expansion coefficient of the honeycomb segment.

摘要: Fiber-reinforced compositions for forming concrete are disclosed. A fiber-reinforced dry-cast cementitious composition includes a cementitious component, aggregate, and at least one reinforcing component selected from the group consisting of metal fibers, synthetic fibers, and rubber pieces. A fiber-reinforced non-cementitious composition includes a pozzolanic component, aggregate, and at least one reinforcing component selected from the group consisting of metal fibers, synthetic fibers, and rubber pieces. The composition excludes any cementitious component. Fiber-reinforced concrete structures obtained by hardening the above-described compositions are also disclosed.
