摘要: A method of producing a flexible laminate and a flexible laminate produced by the method are provided. The method involves laminating flexible substrates with a urethane adhesive and allowing the urethane adhesive to cure. The urethane adhesive comprises at least one polyisocyanate, at least one polyfunctional curative, at least one metal based catalyst and a catalyst blocking agent. The catalyst blocking agent allows for improved control of the curing rate of the urethane adhesive in the flexible laminate. The curing rate of the urethane adhesive can be controlled with heat or actinic radiation or both. The method allows for faster and more economical production of flexible laminates.

摘要: A lubricant composition for use as a concentrate and motor oil having an enhanced thermal conductivity. One preferred composition contains a lubricant composition, nanomaterial, and a dispersing agent or surfactant for the purpose of stabilizing the nanomaterial. One preferred nanomaterial is a high thermal conductivity graphite, exceeding 80 W/m in thermal conductivity. Carbon nano material or nanostructures such as nanotubes, nanofibrils, and nanoparticles formed by grounding and/or milling graphite to obtain a mean particle size less than 500 nm in diameter, and preferably less than 100 nm, and most preferably less than 50 nm. Other high thermal conductivity carbon materials are also acceptable. To confer long-term stability, the use of one or more chemical dispersants or surfactants is useful. The graphite nanomaterials contribute to the overall fluid viscosity and providing a very high viscosity index. Particle size and dispersing chemistry is controlled to get the desired combination of viscosity and thermal conductivity increase from the lubricant. The resulting fluids have unique properties due to the high thermal conductivity and high viscosity index of the suspended particles, as well as their small size.

摘要: A brominated unsaturated polyester resin containing a hydroxyl value of about 35 or less and a hydroxyl acid molar ratio of about 2:1 to about 1:4. The brominated unsaturated polyester resin is prepared from a polyfunctional carboxylic acid, a monocarboxylic acid, and a polyfunctional glycol or alcohol that contains bromine under polyester esterification reaction conditions. The brominated unsaturated polyester resin can be incorporated into a resin composition that also contains vinyl monomer. The invention is also directed to a method of making a brominated unsaturated polyester resin, and to castings, coatings, and laminate panels containing cured brominated unsaturated polyester resin compositions of the invention.

摘要: The present invention relates to a carboxylic acid based antifreeze coolant formulation for heavy duty applications such as for diesel engines which may be used for inhibition and prevention erosion and corrosion of aluminum and the corrosion of other metals exposed to an aqueous liquid in automotive coolant systems. The formulation further inhibits mineral scale. It may be packaged as an ethylene glycol based additive for use in new engines or in a concentrated inhibition package as an additive as for reinhibition of used coolant. The combination of a mixture of ethylene or propylene glycol, a monobasic carboxylic organic acid, azoles, low levels of molybdates, a nitrite salt and/or nitrate salt and/or siloxane stabilized silicate, and combinations thereof, polyvinylpyrrolidone, provide a synergistic protective effect against the cavitation corrosion of aluminum in aqueous liquids reducing the corrosion rate and is effective at relatively low concentrations and varying pH ranges.

摘要: Fluid compositions that have enhanced thermal conductivity, up to 250% greater than their conventional analogues, and methods of preparation for these fluids are identified. The compositions contain at a minimum, a fluid media such as oil or water, and a selected effective amount of carbon nanomaterials necessary to enhance the thermal conductivity of the fluid. One of the preferred carbon nanomaterials is a high thermal conductivity graphite, exceeding that of the neat fluid to be dispersed therein in thermal conductivity, and ground, milled, or naturally prepared with mean particle size less than 500 nm, and preferably less than 200 nm, and most preferably less than 100 nm. The graphite is dispersed in the fluid by one or more of various methods, including ultrasonication, milling, and chemical dispersion. Carbon nanotube with graphitic structure is another preferred source of carbon nanomaterial, although other carbon nanomaterials are acceptable. To confer long term stability, the use of one or more chemical dispersants is preferred. The thermal conductivity enhancement, compared to the fluid without carbon nanomaterial, is somehow proportional to the amount of carbon nanomaterials (carbon nanotubes and/or graphite) added.

摘要: A chemical fluid valve transfer (e.g., load/unload) assembly is formed from a male valve assembly and a female valve assembly. The male valve assembly is fitted with a male connector which houses a chamber that is connected to a flush inlet line, and a flush outlet line, and a chemical transport line. The female valve assembly is fitted with a female connector which mates with the male valve assembly male connector for interconnecting the male valve and female valve assemblies, and fitted with a chemical transport line. Another aspect of the present invention is a method for transferring a chemical fluid between a tanker fitted with a female coupler and a fill/unload station fitted with a male coupler and hose assembly. This method involves the connecting of the tanker hose and the fill station hose with the valve assembly described above. Next, the male and female connectors and said chamber are purged with liquid or gaseous cleaning fluid admitted via the flush inlet flush line and withdrawn via the flush outlet line. One of the male valve assembly or the female valve assembly then is opened to permit the chemical fluid to enter into the chamber for withdrawal therefrom via the flush outline line for its sampling. Finally, the chemical fluid is transferred between the tanker and the fill station through the valve assembly.
