    摘要: A method of manufacturing acyloxysilane compounds having functional groups bonded to a silicon atom via Si--C bonds comprising reacting in a hydrosilation reaction an unsaturated compound (a) selected from the group consisting of (i) styrene or styrene derivative, (ii) vinylsilane compound, (iii) siloxane compound having a vinyl group bonded directly to a silicon atom, (iv) epoxy-functional olefin, (v) diene compound, (vi) allyl compound described by formula CH.sub.2 .dbd.CHCH.sub.2 X, where X is a halogen atom, an alkoxy group, or an acyloxy group, (vii) olefin compound having a terminal vinyl group, and (viii) acetylene-type compound with a silicon compound (b) that contains hydrogen atom bonded to the silicon atom and acyloxy group in the presence of a platinum catalyst.

This invention also relates to a method of making an alkenyl ether functional polyisobutylene polymer comprising reacting a mixture comprising a polyisobutylene containing at least one hydrolyzable group, an alkenyl ether compound, and a solvent. The alkenyl ether functional polyisobutylenes of this invention have high moisture vapor barrier, high damping characteristics, and a high refractive index.

    摘要: A method for forming a low surface energy coating for electrophotographic photosensitive body substrates does not require performing a physical surface reforming treatment such as corona discharge, plasma treatment, and the like. The process comprises: forming on the substrate at least one polysiloxane coating material, (B), that has a water contact angle greater than the water contact angle of the substrate; and thereafter forming an outermost surface coating material, (A), on top of coating material (B). The water contact angle of coating material (B) is smaller than the water contact angle of coating material (A). Coating material (A) comprises finely divided silica and a resin of the formula RSiO.sub.3/2, wherein not less than 1 mol % and not more than 80 mol % of the R groups are fluorohydrocarbon groups of 3 to 12 carbon atoms.

    摘要: An alkenyl-functional silylated polymethylsilsesquioxane that contains no more than 0.12 residual silanol per Si atom and is obtained by silylating the silanol in starting polymethylsilsesquioxane. The starting polymethylsilsesquioxane has a predetermined number average molecular weight, Mn, from 380 to 2,000 and is represented by the general formula(CH.sub.3 SiO.sub.3/2).sub.n (CH.sub.3 Si(OH)O.sub.2/2).sub.mwherein m and n are positive numbers that provide the predetermined Mn, with the proviso that the value of m/(m+n) is less than or equal to 0.152/(Mn.times.10.sup.-3)+0.10 and greater than or equal to 0.034/(Mn.times.10.sup.-3). The alkenyl-functional silylated polymethylsilsesquioxane has the formula(CH.sub.3 SiO.sub.3/2).sub.n (CH.sub.3 Si(OH)O.sub.2/2).sub.m-k (CH.sub.3 Si(OSiR.sup.1 R.sup.2 R.sup.3)O.sub.2/2).sub.kwherein k is a positive number smaller than A, (m-k/(m+n) is less than or equal to 0.12, and R.sup.1, R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 are each selected from substituted and unsubstituted monovalent hydrocarbon groups with the proviso that at least 1 of said R.sup.1, R.sup.2, and R.sup.3 is a group that contains a crosslinkable carbon--carbon double bond.

    摘要: A process for the preparation of an electrically conductive coating material for use in electrophotography applications comprises subjecting an epoxy-functional silane to hydrolytic condensation in a mixed solvent of alcohol and water in the presence of silica. The hydrolyzed material is then heat cured to form a resin coating comprising (R.sup.1 SiO).sub.3/2 units, where R.sup.1 comprises epoxy-functional groups. The coating has superior optical homogeneity and electrical conductivity without being detrimental to the functionality required of electrophotographic photosensitive bodies.
