    摘要: A code division multiple access user equipment is used in receiving a plurality of data signals over a shared spectrum. Each received data signal experiences a similar channel response. A combined signal of the received data signals is received over the shared spectrum. The combined signal is sampled at a multiple of the chip rate. A channel response is estimated. A cross correlation matrix is determined using the estimated channel response. A subblock of the cross correlation matrix is selected. A Cholesky factor for the subblock is determined. The Cholesky factor is extended. The spread data vector is determined using the extended Cholesky factor, a version of the channel response and the samples. Data of the data signals is estimated using the spread data vector.

    摘要: A UE system implements dynamic link adaptation by adding or changing control information to notify a receiver which timeslots and codes are currently active and which timeslots should be avoided. The UE provides synchronization such that the receiver knows which timeslots and codes the UE has used to map the coded composite transport channel onto physical channels. The UE attempts to avoid the timeslots which are experiencing transmission difficulties, while attempting to utilize the timeslots which are not experiencing transmission problems.

    摘要: The present invention is a method for adjusting a timing of at least one first base station to maintain synchronization with a neighboring base station. An estimation of a timing accuracy associated with each said at least one first base station with respect to said neighboring base station is determined. For each of the first base station having its timing accuracy over a threshold, a first message to transmit a communication burst is received by the first base station. The communication burst is then received by the neighboring base station and a measurement of an estimated time difference between the first base station and the neighboring base stations in response to a second message is made. The first base station's timing is then adjusted in response to the measurement.

Each data highway has frames with time slots for transferring data. The plurality of highways outputs data to the high data rate interface and the wireless interface in selected time slots. At least one of the data highways has an input configured to receive data from the high data rate interface in selected time slots. At least one of the data highways has an input configured to receive data from the wireless interface in selected time slots. A processor controls the transfer of data between the plurality of highways.

    摘要: A spread-spectrum CDMA communications system for locating remote units, and for communicating message data between a plurality of remote units and a base station. The spread-spectrum CDMA communications system includes a plurality of base stations and a plurality of remote units. A base station has a spread-spectrum modulator for spread-spectrum processing the message data, and a transmitter for transmitting the spread-spectrum processed-message data, combined with a generic-chip-code signal, from the base station to a remote unit. The base station also has an antenna, and spread-spectrum detectors for recovering message-data communicated from the remote-units. A remote-unit has an antenna, and a detector coupled to the antenna for recovering data communicated from the base station. The detector includes a spread spectrum demodulator. Also, the remote unit has a device for converting the format of the data into a form suitable for communicating over radio waves, a spread spectrum modulator and a transmitter. The base station has a range circuit, which comparers the generic-chip-code signal generated at the base station with the generic-chip-code signal received from the remote unit, for determining a range between the remote unit and the base station.
