摘要： A cable which may be used in buildings in concealed areas such as in plenums or in riser shafts includes a core (22) which includes at least one transmission medium which is enclosed in a non-halogenated plastic material. The core is enclosed with a jacket (28) which also is made of a non-halogenated plastic material. The non-halogenated material which encloses the transmission medium and the jacket is a plastic material selected from the group consisting of a filled polyolefin, a polyetherimide and a silicone-polyimide copolymer, and blend compositions of a polyetherimide and a silicone-polyimide copolymer. Interposed between the core and the jacket is a thermal barrier which includes a plastic film which is selected from the group consisting of a polyetherimide, a silicone-polyimide copolymer, a polyimide, and blend compositions of a polyetherimide and a silicone-polyimide copolymer.

摘要： A self-lubricating solid coating that contains three layers of lubricants is disclosed. The solid lubricant may be prepared from chromium silicide or chromium carbide; disulfide and diselenide of tungsten, molybdenum, niobium, or tantalum; and silver or gold. This material combination provides superior wear and friction reduction over the temperature range applied. In this invention, chromium silicide or chromium carbide is a hard lubricant with a low wear property to protect the substrate metal; disulfide or diselenide is a soft lubricant with a very low coefficient of friction; and silver or gold with their high thermal conductivity are effective in conducting heat especially at high sliding velocities. Both silver and gold have a low friction coefficient with high oxidative stability. The use of this solid lubricant allows engine manufacturers to develop high temperature engine and partially or totally eliminate the use of liquid lubricants in engines, thus reducing the environmental pollution caused by liquid lubricants in various engines.

For the jacket, the plastic material includes a blend composition of silicone-polyimide copolymer and a flame retardant and smoke suppressant system comprising titanium dioxide and zinc borate.

摘要： Phosphorus-free and ashless high-temperature aircraft and turbo engine lubricant that contains no halogens or hazardous substances is disclosed. The phosphorus-free lubricating oil may be prepared from pentaerythritol tetraester, methylolpropane triester, or their combinations, ashless dithiocarbamate additives, a dialkydiphenylamine, an alkylphenylnaphthylamine, a triazole derivative, a rest inhibitor or metal deactivator, and an anti-foam. The use of this lubricating oil in addition to its superior wear and friction performance over the standard lubricating oil provides a safe and an environmentally benign gas turbine engine oil for aircraft and turbo engines.

The metallic conductor is insulated with a layer (27) of a plastic composition of material which includes a non-halogenated constituent such as, for example, a polyetherimide. Covering the insulated metallic conductor is a jacket (39) comprising a halogenated material such as a fluoropolymer. The cable exhibits excellent flame retardant properties as well as acceptable levels of corrosion and toxicity.

The phosphorus-free, low ash and light ash formulations may be prepared either as a lubricating oil or as a concentrated additive for a lubricating oil. Additionally, low ash and light ash motor oils containing no metal DTPs, halogens or hazardous substances are disclosed. The low ash and light ash formulations without metal DTPs may be prepared either as a lubricating oil or as a concentrated additive for a lubricating oil. The use of both the oils and the concentrated additives results in superior price and performance qualities compared to the leading commercial brands.
