Abstract:
Improved air freshener dispenser for car comprising a rigid air freshener container; a dispensing nozzle longitudinally oriented and coupled to an upper end of the air freshener container such that it emits a dose of air freshener every time the user presses said nozzle downwards; and an absorbing element surrounding an outlet orifice of the dispensing nozzle such that all the air freshener emitted by said nozzle impregnates said absorbing element.
Abstract:
A portable electrophoretic contactless conductivity detection (C4D) system for analysis on a microfluidic chip houses in one embodiment a fluidic compartment for receiving the microfluidic chip, and four detection electrodes: first and second emitting electrodes, and first and second receiving electrodes. The first emitting electrode and the first receiving electrode are adjacent to a first channel wall of the microfluidic chip, and the second emitting electrode and the second receiving electrode are adjacent to a second channel wall, where the second channel wall is opposite to the first channel wall. In an embodiment, the electrodes are provided as portions of a removable cartridge cell.
Abstract:
For forming a nickel mold, a metal and a corresponding etchant are selected such that the etchant selectively etches the metal over nickel. The metal is sputtered onto a surface of a template having nano-structures to form a sacrificial layer covering the nano-structures. Nickel is electroplated onto the sacrificial layer to form a nickel mold, but leaving a portion of the sacrificial layer exposed. The sacrificial layer is contacted with the etchant through the exposed portion of the sacrificial layer to etch away the sacrificial layer until the nickel mold is separated from the template. Subsequently, the nickel mold may be replicated or scaled-up to produce a replicate mold by electroplating, where the replicate mold has nano-structures that match the nano-structures on the template. The metal may be copper.
Abstract:
This invention refers to a spinning food grill characterized because it is mainly constituted by a base upon which an electric engine is mounted, which moves a main shaft which is held in a vertical position by a post that is placed parallel to it. This main shaft is held by oarlocks located over crossbars that are perpendicular to a post. The oarlocks allow the main shaft to spin freely; additionally it is provided with a height regulator which allows the modification of the height of a circular grill located in the upper extreme of such main shaft. In such way, the distance of the circular grill is controlled, allowing it to come near or move away from the heat source, in this case ignited charcoal, to roast foods. Also, this grill is accompanied by a pair of frames that allow its use in open spaces such as gardens or patios.
Abstract:

Abstract:
A blood clotting substrate and device which has a plurality of oxygen plasma-treated polypropylene pillars extending from the surface of a polypropylene film.
Abstract:
A micro-fluidic electronic device includes a micro-fluidic component and an electronic component formed on a sheet of paper. An electrically-active layer of the electronic component, such as a nano-material layer, interacts with a fluid sample deposited within a fluid reservoir of the component, and changes the electronic properties of the electronic component. This can be detected by passing an electrical signal through the electronic component. The micro-fluidic electronic device can be formed straightforwardly and inexpensively by printing or mold-casting.
Abstract:
A method of forming a high aspect ratio adhesive structure, the method comprising fabricating a porous template comprising at least a first tier and a second tier; introducing a softened polymer into the template; and separating the polymer from the template.
Abstract:
A method of separating blood by providing a horizontal substrate having a plurality of oxygen plasma-treated polypropylene pillars extending from the surface of a polypropylene film, depositing a whole blood sample on an upper surface of the substrate, collecting red blood cells on the upper surface of the pillars and permitting remaining components of said whole blood sample to flow downward and through the pillars.
