摘要: Provided is a novel continuous single-step method of manufacturing a multilayer sorbent polymeric membrane having superior productivity, properties and performance. At least one layer of the polymeric membrane comprises sorbent materials and a plurality of interconnecting pores. The method includes: (a) coextruding layer-forming compositions to form a multilayer coextrudate; (b) casting the coextrudate into a film; (c) extracting the film with an extractant; and (d) removing the extractant from the extracted film to form the multilayer sorbent polymeric membrane. The sorbent membrane of this disclosure can find a wide range of applications for use in filtration, separation and purification of gases and fluids, CO2 and volatile capture, structural support, vehicle emission control, energy harvesting and storage, electrolyte batteries, device, protection, permeation, packaging, printing, and etc.

摘要: Provided are polymeric films that include a polyolefin and at least one cavitating agent including a poly(alkylene terephthalate) of formula (I); wherein n, representing the number of methylene segments in the repeating unit, is 3 or an integer greater than or equal to 5; p, representing the degree of polymerization, is an integer greater than 1. The polymeric film may be an opaque polymeric film. A preferred cavitating agent is poly(trimethylene terephthalate). Also provided are methods for making such polymeric films.

摘要: Multi-layer polymeric films having at least one skin layer comprising at least one polyhydroxyether component or a combination of at least one polyhydroxyether component and at least polyester component are provided. The multi-layer films exhibit advantages such as high surface energy contributing to improved printability, barrier properties, and metallization. Additionally, the films exhibit improved adhesion between the skin layer and other layers of multi-layer film structures. In certain embodiments, the at least one skin layer incorporates from about 70 wt. % to about 100 wt. % of the at least one polyhydroxyether component or the combination of the at least one polyhydroxyether component and the at least one polyester component. The combination of the at least one polyhydroxyether component and the at least one polyester component incorporates from about 1 wt. % to about 99.0 wt. % of the at least one polyhydroxyether component and from about 1 wt. % to about 99 wt. % of the at least one polyester component.

摘要: A method of producing a foam is disclosed. The method includes providing an epoxy-containing compound, a cationic catalyst, an optional blowing agent, and at least one additive. The method further includes combining the epoxy-containing compound with the cationic catalyst, the optional blowing agent, and the at least one additive, wherein the epoxy-containing compound and the cationic catalyst react to polymerize the epoxy-containing compound to provide the foam having a density from about 0.3 lbs/ft3 to about 5.0 lbs/ft3 as measured by ASTM D1622. Further disclosed are the foam and a method for installing the foam.
