    摘要: Provided is a novel continuous single-step method of manufacturing a multilayer sorbent polymeric membrane having superior productivity, properties and performance. At least one layer of the polymeric membrane comprises sorbent materials and a plurality of interconnecting pores. The method includes: (a) coextruding layer-forming compositions to form a multilayer coextrudate; (b) casting the coextrudate into a film; (c) extracting the film with an extractant; and (d) removing the extractant from the extracted film to form the multilayer sorbent polymeric membrane. The sorbent membrane of this disclosure can find a wide range of applications for use in filtration, separation and purification of gases and fluids, CO2 and volatile capture, structural support, vehicle emission control, energy harvesting and storage, device, protection, permeation, packaging, printing, and etc.

    摘要: Provided is a multilayer porous separator film comprising at least one oriented layer, said one oriented layer comprising a heat, solvent, and degradation resistant matrix polymer; an open and interconnecting pore structure; and superior ionic conductivity. The film is made by a dry and/or wet method, with its multilayer structure constructed by coextrusion, lamination, and coating. The film of this disclosure finds a wide range of applications as a permselective medium for use in energy harvesting and storage, filtration, separation and purification of gases and fluids, CO2 and volatile capture, electronics, devices, structural supports, packaging, labeling, printing, clothing, drug delivery systems, bioreactor, and the like. The film is preferably used as a separator of lithium-ion, lithium-sulfur, lithium-air, metal-air, and nonaqueous electrolyte batteries.

    摘要: Provided are polymeric films that include a polyolefin and at least one cavitating agent including a poly(alkylene terephthalate) of formula (I); wherein n, representing the number of methylene segments in the repeating unit, is 3 or an integer greater than or equal to 5; p, representing the degree of polymerization, is an integer greater than 1. The polymeric film may be an opaque polymeric film. A preferred cavitating agent is poly(trimethylene terephthalate). Also provided are methods for making such polymeric films.
