    摘要: In one embodiment of the present invention, a driving method of a liquid crystal display device is disclosed. According to one embodiment of the present invention a driving method of an active matrix display device is disclosed including: a plurality of source lines; a plurality of gate lines that intersect the source lines; and a plurality of pixel formation sections being disposed in a matrix manner at the respective intersections of the source lines and the gate lines, each of the pixel formation sections receiving as a pixel value a voltage applied to the source line that passes through the corresponding intersection when the gate line that passes through the corresponding intersection is selected, wherein non-image signals are applied to the source lines in each horizontal scanning period, and the gate lines are selected in an effective scanning period, and thereafter the gate lines are selected, in sync with a timing of application of the non-image signals to the source lines, before the subsequent effective scanning period comes after a point in time when the gate lines have been brought into non-selected state.

When viewed from a direction perpendicular to a surface of the active matrix substrate or of the counter substrate, an outline shape of the projecting sections is constituted by continuously arranging a plurality of unit patterns each having a side in parallel with the polarization axis of the first polarizing plate and a side in parallel with the polarization axis of the second polarizing plate. This makes it possible to provide a liquid crystal panel that performs better display with high contrast by reducing a light leakage during a black display period and by ensuring a light transmittance during a gray level display period and a white display period.

    摘要: The liquid crystal display device of this invention includes picture element regions each defined by a first electrode provided on a first substrate and a second electrode provided on a second substrate so as to oppose the first electrode via a liquid crystal layer sandwiched therebetween. In each of the picture element regions, the first electrode includes a solid portion and a nonsolid portion. The liquid crystal display device further includes a pair of polarizing plates disposed with polarization axes thereof crossing each other substantially perpendicularly. The polarization axis of one of the pair of polarizing plates is substantially parallel to a direction in which the solid portion extends. When a voltage is applied between the first electrode and the second electrode, in each of the picture element regions, liquid crystal molecules of the liquid crystal layer are in a radially-inclined orientation state.

    摘要: In a wiring figure pattern of a display panel, each wiring is separated into bands of optimal widths by slits of a constant width as a wiring figure pattern so that minimum light irradiation for curing a photocuring sealing material can be carried out without increasing the electric resistance of the wiring. The optimal width means a resistance such that light coming from both sides of the band cures the sealing material on the upper surface of the band without influencing the driving and display of liquid crystal. At a point where the width of wiring becomes two times or more of the optical width between the start point and end point of intersection of the wiring and the sealing material region, the wiring is divided by the slit. A first branch forms the band of the optimal width extending from the branch point to the end point, whereas the second branch extends to the end point and is spaced apart from the first branch by the width of the slit. At a point where the width becomes two times or more of the optimal width, the wiring is divided. Subsequently, branching is repeated until the end point is reached. A continuous triangle is formed in the slit at each branch, thus adjusting the width of the bands to have the optimal width.

    摘要: An object of the present invention is to provide a liquid crystal display device which is capable of preventing single-image prolonged-display screen burn while keeping an image constantly on display.The liquid crystal display device includes a liquid crystal panel provided with groups of pixel formation portions disposed in a matrix pattern, and a backlight which is capable of turning ON/OFF of lighting for each region which includes a predetermined number of scanning lines. Each frame period for an entered video signal is divided into a first sub-frame period and a second sub-frame period. In the first sub-frame period, the liquid crystal panel is supplied with a data signal based on the entered video signal as the scanning lines are selected. In the second sub-frame period a data signal based on a refresh data for prevention of screen burn is supplied. Each region as a unit of backlight ON/OFF state control is supplied with lighting when pixel formation portion group on the scanning lines served by the region are supplied with data signal based on the entered video signal while lighting is not supplied when data signal based on the refresh data is supplied.
