    摘要: An electromagnetic fuel injector suitable for use in an automotive engine has a cylindrical yoke constituting a body of the fuel injector, a solenoid coil and a stator core fixedly received in the cylindrical yoke, a movable core adapted to be attracted by the stator core, and a movable valve responsive to the movable core so as to be moved into and out of contact with a fuel injection valve seat in accordance with the balance of force between an electromagnetic force produced by the solenoid coil and a force produced by a spring received in the stator core. The stator core is coaxially received in the cylindrical yoke with a portion of the material of either one of the stator core and the yoke being plastically deformed into an annular groove formed in the opposing surface of the other of the stator core and the yoke. In consequence, the stator core and the yoke are coupled to and held on each other by the contracting force produced by the plastically deformed material in and around the annular groove.

    摘要: A base injection pulse for regulating an injecting time of an injector is determined by the number of revolutions of an engine and the quantity of an intake air. The base injection pulse is calibrated or compensated as follows;T.sub.i =T.sub.p (1+K.sub.a +K.sub.b)whereinT.sub.i : a pulse width of the calibrated injection pulse, which determines the injecting time of the injector;T.sub.p : a pulse width of the base injection pulse;K.sub.a : a calibration coefficient determined by the level of an acceleration; andK.sub.b : a calibration coefficient determined by the level of a deceleration preceding to the acceleration.

    摘要: An electromagnetic fuel injector comprising: a movable member with a valve body provided at one end and an armature made of a magnetic material provided at the other end; a cylindrical core made of a magnetic material, the core being disposed in such a manner that the distal end thereof opposes the armature; an electromagnetic coil disposed around the cylindrical core for producing an electromagnetic force between the cylindrical core and the armature when the coil is energized; and guide sections for guiding the movement of the movable member in the axial direction, the guide sections being disposed in the vicinities of the valve body and the armature of the movable member. The guide section provided in the vicinity of the armature comprises a sliding member made of a non-magnetic material and disposed between the armature and the core. The colliding surface of the core and the armature is coated with a nickel layer which serves as an impact absorbing layer and a chromium oxide layer which serves as a surface hardening layer. A seal ring is provided between the outer periphery of a plug portion of the core and the inner periphery of a casing. The yoke is coupled to the core at a location which is closer to a fuel outlet from the seal ring.

    摘要: An apparatus for controlling the operation of an internal combustion engine having a carburetor which, controls the air-fuel ratio of the air-fuel mixture supplied to the engine in the steady operating condition of the engine on the basis of predetermined data determined relative to the engine crankshaft rotation speed and intake vacuum and stored in a memory. A three-way catalyst purifies engine exhaust gases, and an output signal from an O.sub.2 sensor in the exhaust system is fed back for the control of the air-fuel ratio in the engine exhaust gases. A circuit checks whether this feedback control is normally carried or not. The air-fuel ratio supplied to the engine in an unsteady operating condition of the engine is controlled by regulating the fuel and air supplied to the engine while bypassing the carburetor, by the sensed values of the intake vacuum, engine crankshaft rotation speed and engine temperature and also depending on the throttle valve position. To control the rate of exhaust gas recirculation, an upper limit and a lower limit of the rate of opening of a recirculation rate regulating valve are determined on the basis of the sensed throttle valve opening, and other predetermined data determined relative to the engine crankshaft rotation speed and intake vaccum is read out from the memory to limit the rate of opening of the recirculation rate regulating valve.

    摘要: A fuel injection system for an internal combustion engine has a fuel injector disposed in a main air passage upstream of a throttle valve. A part of air flowing through the main air passage is caused to flow through a by-pass air passage having outlet ports open to the main air passage upstream of the injection orifice of the injector. A thermal type air flow meter measures the rate of air flow through the by-pass air passage. In order to prevent whirling-up of injected fuel and resultant adhesion of the fuel to walls adjacent to the by-pass air passage outlet ports, the cross-sectional area of the main air passage adjacent to the by-pass air passage outlet ports is determined to be greater than that of the main air passage around the throttle valve when in its fully open position.
